I am not hearing from my phone when somebody is calling me. I only hear when I quickly select loud speaker on. What might be the cause of that?

try to check maybe your phone is in mute mode or the volume is set too low.

if playing also ringtones, games or your phone doesn't rings when somebody calls you, this could be the problems below.

if it is not in mute mode then most likely it has a defective speaker or loose connection to the speakers. you can check its connection if inside if you can open your phone. but try only opening your phone if you know what you are doing, you might worsten its problem. you can locate the speaker inside, it is like a small speaker and check if it has abnormalities. other than that, don't touch anything else.

(if you have a multi-tester, you can check the speaker itself by placing the red and black probe to each terminals of the speaker and if you hear a scratching sound on the speaker then your speaker is good. if none, then an open defective speaker.)

(WARNING: only open if there is no more warranty on your phone cause opening it can cause your warranty to be void)

The problem is with your "Ringer" (the bigger speaker). If you can hear the sound through your ear piece, then replacing the Ringer/Speaker will definitely fix your problem. I would suggest to get it done from a service center or from a mobile repairing shop.

The speaker and the hearing peice are two different things.

1. if any water got on the upper speaker - than your hearing speaker is broke

2. if the speaker just stopped working and your phone is under a year - than your phone qualify as a manufatcurer defect

3. Try a bluetooth - You will be able to hear people and they can hear you - however if they still can not hear you - than you have a bigger problem

4. if the problem is still there - take your phone to your carrier store and see if they have someone that can replace it for you

Check your phone's speaker still working or not. You can use avometer to test your phone's speaker. Setting your avometer to X1. If the speaker damage,you have to replace it.

While you are talking press the up arrow or check side of phone for 2 buttons that control volume up and down. Most phones you can press up on the center square or up arrow.

Thats a normal situation evevery cell has two speakers one is for normal conversation and the other one is for loud music n all your normal speaker has died either u need to replace it. Hope its not embeded on your main board.

most of the time it is the speaker which has the problem. or it could be a device interfering with the phone when u recieve a call. for example wireless internet or speakers

faulty microphone,common error with these phones,however not easy to replace
