That's not a problem at all... Just do the same thing as you would have done in the case of a normal CD or DVD. Put the SMALL driver disk into your dvd-drive and it will work in the same way. :)

Hi Alexa,

You didn't mention what model Craig, so I was unable to look up the specs.

I would imagine that there is some sort of USB cable interface. A cable that would plug into the Craig and into a USB port on your computer.

Hope this helps, let me know how you made out in a comment, if you need more help, feel free to ask in the comment.

    Alexa,

I have used the smaller disks in a regular cd/dvd drive with no problems, sorry to hear your still experiencing problems.
What model Craig video camera are you using, I'll look up the specs and try to help you more.

I found the spec at Craig Electronics. The specs says there is a direct USB connection. The photo
shows the USB connection popping out of the top of the camera. Check out the photo and specs here:

    http://craigelectronics.com/site/pdetail...

The spec also says it supports SD/MMC Card Slot (Support: Max 8GB)
but I saw nothing about mini disk recording.

By chance did a mini disk come with the camera for supporting software installation?

  • Anonymous Dec 26, 2010

Thats the problem the mini disk doesnt work in my dvd/cd drive. I wonder if ther is somewhere I could down load the driver from the internet

Sorry I couldn't find the drivers online, but I did manage to find Craig Electronics email, you could write and ask where to get the driver: [email protected] or call them at 1-866-321-7191

Can't find Masscool drivers

While I am not a MAC expert, it is not often a problem to try and use a small CD. There is usually an indentation on the CD Transport, which brings it into the drive, to be read.

That indent actually does indicate the placement of a smaller CD, for just such a purpose.

I cannot imagine that Apple would be so stupid as to not use a CD/DVD drive that does not accommodate a small disk.

If you cannot find it, find a friend with a Windows/Intel PC, and ask them to copy your small CD to a larger one for you. I don't believe that is a violation of copyright laws. Or go to a local library and see whether they have computers with CD/DVD writers in them. They should, so that you can do research, then copy it to a CD or DVD to take home.

Worst case is take it to the library, and copy everything on the CD to a Flash or Thumb (USB) drive.

Cheers!

Optical drives do not recognize disk when trying to load new disk

If you cannot read those CD-disks in _any_ computer, then the disks are "bad".

If you can read those CD-disks, then it's time to replace the CD/DVD drive. Find a smaller computer-store -- often they will remove the "dead" drive, and install the "new" drive, for $0.00, or for a small fee, if you buy the new CD/DVD-writer from them.

Just bought an Ematic 1.5%22 Color 4GB MP3/4 Video Player and the driver disk it came with about 3'' wide much smaller than a std cd so i cant use it. where can i get the driver and anything else to make...

You should be able to use the small diameter disk. The disk can be inserted in the CD/DVD drive just like a normal size CD/DVD disk, it locks onto the spindle on the laptop's CD/DVD drive. The laser reads from the center of the disk.

Playing dvd's from camcorder on laptop...

I have this video camera. It seemed like a good deal at $200 at Christmas time. It is suppose to be able to record on DVD-R, +R disks. (re-writable and write disks) I have had issues with not being able to finalize the disk. I found you needed to keep at least 5 minutes on the disk to finalize it. It will not play in any DVD player or a Computer till it is finalized. The info stored on the disk is in RAW form. Finalizing it will create a "lead in" and "lead out" and a menu for your computer and/or DVD player to understand. A large part of whether it will play or not, is what is your DVD Player or DVD Drive on you computer capable of? DVD Players usually will play anything that has been finalized, same with your DVD drive on your computer. BUT! Yep there's a but, sorry. DVD players and DVD Drives sometimes can only read one type of disk. Either a DVD-R or DVD+R, some may not be able to read a re-writable disk too. Look through your manuals on your Laptop and your DVD Player(s) and try to match the correct media (i.e. DVD-R or DVD+R Write or Re-Writable) I found that between my PC and my DVD Player, that DVD+R would work without a hitch for both electonics. Download that software that Samsung gave you in with the video camera. It may end up loading the driver software to help you're computer to recognize the video DVD you are trying to play. Oh, and make sure you really do have a DVD player/burner drive installed. I went to play a movie on my wife's Laptop and found it came with a CD drive and no DVD drive. That's not what I ordered and I was about a year to late to complain to the company. :( Hope that helps.

Got video on to computer what do i download to edit it.

The Sanyo CG9 Website will provide you with the free tools you need to view your videos on your computer. The website will not allow you to download commercial software like Ulead MovieFactory that may have come on disks with your camera. If you have your disks, this is the software you will use to edit your clips smaller or make DVD video disks.
I cannot recommend where to download commercial software.

If you don't have the original sanyo cd's try and google "free mp4 editor".

No disc error showing up-takes 20 tries to bring up dvd

Maybe the laser is unable to focus on the smaller pits and lands of a DVD disk but can see the relatively large pits and lands from a CD just fine. This may be solved by using a CD/DVD cleaner disk. It's a disk with small brushes on it that attempt to brush dust from the laser's lense. They don't always work but that's what I'd try.
