The volume keys should be working by default, but you may have volume punch through turned on (meaning the remote is sending signals for TV or CABLE volume function no matter what mode you are actually on). To unlock volume control for AUX mode, do the following:
1. Press and release AUX
2. Press and hold SETUP until the remote blinks twice
3. Type 993
4. Press and release VOL-
The remote should blink four times to confirm unlock.
The 0176 code works on my RX-V663 to control volume. Make sure that the Comcast remote has been reprogrammed for the AUX device to control volume. By default the volume will always control the TV volume. You can find how to do this on the Comcast website.

Odd, what model Comcast do you have. Yamaha remote codes have been pretty much the same for 20 years. Even the oldest receiver remote will still work the vol on a newer unit. Get back to me with the model of the remote and I will see what I can work out for you.

Me too. I have a Yamaha HTR-5950 and can't get the comcast remote to work with it. Tried 0176 and 1176 as well. Also, tried the "search for you code" method without luck.

I cannot find the right code for mine either! I have a HTR-6130. I've tried 0176, 1176, 0030, 0490, 0539, 0545, 0354...and I've tried searching for the code. I only want to use my comcast remote to turn on/off and volume control. Help!
