I have a check signal cable message between my sony vgn-sz340p and a samsung lcd Is there a downloadable fix out there for this?

Please try to clear the connector of the keyboard and fix it correctly, it may solve the problem. else you have to replace the keyboard.

Unistall the driver youve installed
Then re install it again then restart your pc before you use the camera

I do not see anywhere online to buy just the LCD cable. Most places want you to buy the whole screen as a replacement. You could check Ebay every now and then, someone may be parting one out and you could probably get it cheaper!

The message says that the monitor doesn't receives signal - which is normal. Since the problem appears only after you plug in the cable in means that the problem is located there - something is wrong with your pc, most likely the video card has died.

Try attaching an external monitor to the laptop & see if you could get any display on it. If this is successful, then you might have either a faulty LCD cable or screen inverter board.
The LCD cable transfers data signal from the motherboard & video card to the LCD screen. It also supplies high voltage DC power to the screen inverter board. The screen inverter board works as a power supply for the backlight lamp mounted inside the LCD screen. It converts low voltage DC power to high voltage AC power needed for the backlight lamp.

Unseat and reseat the lcd cable on the back of the LCD and to the motherboard.

Then see if that fixes the problem. If it doesn't then the lcd is going bad on you or the cable has a break in it somewhere so the cable would have to be replaced if that is the case.

This problem is related to defective LCD output. You can connect your Laptop to external LCD and check. IF the same problem occures then the on-board LCD is bad. IF not then the LCD itself is bad.

There is an issue with the vga port on 2006 - 2007 sony vaio laptops. It doesn't push enough power to samsung lcds. There are all sorts of complicated solutions suggested by all sorts of people. Don't waste your time. Get yourself a connection cable with gold contacts and you'll be straight. It costs approx. $33.99. I got this one and it works fine (and I have a weak-*** TZ):
