Ow can I trace the fault on a Zanussi ZBF 360 F oven? I have a customer with a Zanussi oven (model ZBF 360 X) which functions perfectly, oven, grill, fan and "pinger"timer. However if she uses the timer as a reminder for a prolonged cooking period (EG Sunday roast) the RCD controlling the cooker circuit trips. The fault can only be momentary as immediately the pinger and RCD are reset all funcion perfectly. Any ideas ?

SOUNDS LIKE YOUR BOTTOM HEATING ELEMENT HAS BURNT OUT AND IS PROBLEY CAUSING A TRIP.

Probably due to a fault on the oven heating element. Check continuity and earth with a multimeter if you can but it's odds on you will need a new heating element.

If the red light is coming on when you turn on the oven control then the thermostat is ok.You will need to remove the grids from inside the oven then remove the inside rear panel 4 screws, be carreful not to damage the thermostat as you remove the panel.When you have removed panel you will see the ring element,now remove the 3 screws holding in the element and gently pull it towards you,remove the 2 cables off element but do not let them fall into the back of cooker or you will have to remove the cooker and gain access to the rear of the cooker.Once you have element check with a multi-meter for continuity and replace if blown. Relacement is a reverse of removal.
