I got the same error message at the beginning of the wash cycle when the unit was attempting to fill with water. Upon researching the issue, I read a lot about the possibility of too much soap causing a blocked sensor. Even though I use HE, I may have been over doing it with the detergent so I started using less. Also, I decided to try pouring a cap-ful or two of hot water in after adding the soap. While I can't vouch for the accuracy of that diagnosis, I can say that I haven't gotten the error since. Hope this helps!

F1 code

Most F1 error codes refer to a communication error in the main control board/ clock on some there are reset overload switches that if tripped show as a push button that is pushed outward that you can reset. This also mainly depends on which type of oven that you do have and you would have to provide the make and the model number of the unit in order for me to give you an exact solution to your f1 error instead of a generalized one. Sometimes also you can turn off the power at your electrical breaker for 7 minutes which this causes the control to reset in some. Most of the time in most models though the F1 refers to having to replace the electronic control module (ECM. If you have any further questions or wish for me to look up the exact error for your unit message me back your make and model number and I will give further diagnosis on your unit. Thank you again

Have problem with Maytag CWE 9000 the beeper keeps going off even after you press cancel Code is F1, any idea

likely the problem is a bad control board, aka a clock/timer. Usually F1 error codes do refer to main board or main control error in which you would have to replace the control. You can also try shutting off the breaker for 7 minutes which sometimes does make the control reset but this only works maybe 10 percent of the time due to the F1 error code. If you need the part number of the control message me back your full model number and serial number as well.
Thank you

What does f1 mean

The F1 error refers to 'internal flood.'
You may wish to reset the power of the unit, this may clear the error code.

One common cause is too much or 'wrong' detergent causing too many suds. In this case, giving the unit time and a reset is all you need to do.

You may wish to check under the unit to look for a tray with a widget floating in it. If you find such a tray, empty it & cycle the power to reset the F1 error.

I hope that helps.

Laptop not used for some years. could enter bios OK to reset Replaced U/S CMOS battery with no problem. Restarted............ Message press F1 ibm bios setup press F11 to invoke IBM product recovery...

I received an IBM laptop with same issue a few months back. The error message due to the drained out CMOS RTC (coin-cell battery), which retains and other BIOS settings.
The system is OK and all you have to do is to get the CMOS/RTC battery replaced by the a professional.
Good Luck!

Soyo KT400L-2AA5 Motherboard - CMOS checksum error - Defaults loa

This message is usually accompanied by another more explicit, like: "Memory changed from 1GB to 2GB. Press F1 to continue". The message should display and go away after pressing F1. Since you cannot press F1 because the keys do nothing, chances are your keyboard is disconnected, which should display a message indicating this failure.
Try pressing the ScrLk (Scroll Lock) key as messages are being displayed to catch all
messages (they go by quickly) and stop them before they disappear.
If that's the case, then reconnect the keyboard and try again.
Good luck!

F1 error message Kenmore Electric range model 790.95680301

Hi

F1 error means that you have either a bad ERC (clock) or a bad touch pad. To check these please follow these simple instructions:
  1. Disconnect power to stove
  2. Gain access to the back of the clock (electronic range control or ERC).
  3. Unplug the touch pad ribbon connector from the ERC. This will be a flat wire approx. 1 1/2" to 2" wide.
  4. Make sure everything is clear and will not short out when power is turned back on.
  5. Turn power back on to stove.
  6. Watch for the F1 and listen for the beep.
  7. If you get the F1 and beep, replace the ERC.
  8. If after approx. 30 minutes you do NOT get the F1 and hear the beep, replace the touch pad.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Turn on computer and message reads ****bad check sum (CMOS) ****

That means that after computer had been off for a long time the CMOS battery has drained, and CMOS (BIOS) settings had been reset to default.

Usually the computer will work fine after pressing F1, but you may get wrong date and time.

Try charging battery completely, often the problem disappears, if it does not , then the choice is between pressing F1 each time you start the laptop, or disassembling the laptop and replacing CMOS internal coin battery, located on the lower side of the motherboard.

Error code F7 keeps coming up, what does this mean?

F1 error and beeping. Don't bother getting GE out there. Cost me $90 to learn they don't make the clock. WOuld have been $500+ for the control panel anyway. Better off just buying a new one. Planned obsolescence I guess. I won't buy GE again.

I have an ei system 103a desktop i have had to sytem restore now when i turn pc on it tells me to press f1 to start windows i have tried going into the bios and boot from hardisk but still have the problem...

The 'Press F1 to continue" message is a result of an error caused as the BIOS does its hardware checks during the boot process.

The BIOS boot process (bootstrap) preceeds the loading of the operating system.

The most amusing example of this occurs if you unplug a ps2 keyboard,
1, it generates the error
2, pressing F1 does no good because the keyboard is not plugged in.
3, if its ps2, you will need to do a hardware reset after plugging the keyboard in again.

The bios can be set to 'halt on'
'no errors' which will stop the error message appearing.
'keyboard errors' see above
'all errors' any hardware failure detected by the bios will halt the boot process and give the above message.
