Our just over 1 year old LG ice maker (French door model) has started making a ticking sound that doesn't shut off until I turn off the ice maker. I dump the ice. Turn it back on and after the bucket is full again, the ticking resumes. Will this problem be solved with the new sensor you talked about in 1 of your messages? Is this something that a pretty competent husband might be able to do easily or does it require repair services?
Please advise!
Mine started doing the same thing. The problem with mine was that the part that spins around to eject the ice is hung up... first, it was trapping an ice cube in it... I cleared the cube and it stopped making noise for a while, then a cube hung up again. Now I found that one of the 'teeth,' all the way to the right, was stuck under the housing... the part is bent, and needs to be replaced.
Check the part that spins to make sure nothing is stuck. Service is expected in home soon (I hope).

Please advise! I have not yet seen a response to this dilemma. We have turned off the icemaker (my spouse is NOT happy about this malfunction after only a little over 1 year purchase) to avoid potential damage??? to frig. All other components work great - so far...How to fix so I don't hae to resort to opening freezer door to retriee ice cubes in the "bucket". I could've paid less and had a freezer make my ice cubes at this rate!!!
