Trying to get a oovoo and got a web cam but it not finding cam

Your web cam works with software. Any video chat programs or web programs will allow your camera to function. Like Yahoo, MSN, Google, Skype, ooVoo... So you would need a installed a computer program that would give you more control. Check with the manufacturer to see what they have that would give you this kind of control. logitech.com if it's a logitech CAM. If the software isn't compatible with the version of windows.. Then the CAM would only work with web based programs (Skype, ooVoo, yahoo......)

Make sure no other programs such as Skype are running at the time. If Skype is running and using the web cam, its likely it will be unavailable to other programs. Online virus removalWindows8Blog

Try installing the latest WEB cam driver.
You can download the device drivers from the Compaq/HP WEBsupport/download page. Make sure you select your model laptop and the Windowsdrivers you require and install them. Click on this link to download thedrivers: -

Install Yawcam from http://www.yawcam.com/
If it works with that, it should work with oovoo. Double check your driver settings.

Make sure you are connected to the internet before trying to get on oovoo. You can test this by opening up your web browser and typing in your favorite website. If you can reach that website without an issue then try logging into oovoo. If you still have problems try going to oovoo.com for more troubleshooting tips.

Use Skype or webcam alternatives. Search google.com for free web cam chats

The first is correct... the second is incorrect. This should solve your dilemma with not being able to get to the website.
For the other problem. Try deleting the software then reinstalling it. If it still doesn't work, disable your firewall program because it is probably blocking the connection.

try to reinstall the web cam software's and driver packages that came with the web cam.

After signing in to ooVoo Click on FILE, then SETTINGS. Next Click on CAMERA and after TESTING it , go to MICROPHONE

and select it then TEST it. Then go to SPEAKER select it and TEST it. Then Save and it should work.

I also need to know what software you use to connect (msn messnger , yahoo etc.) and how you do connect to Internet (usb modem, router, wireless, dial up).
