I have a Whirlpool Refrigerator Model ED25RFXFW01 that is very slow to make ice. It also gets stuck very often during the dumping cycle. Is it clogged up or what?

thanks, drcool299, for your suggestion. It may be that the ice is too big, so I will try to figure out how to make that adjustment on the ice maker.

Is the ice too big? if they are, the ice size adjustment needs to be adjusted. if the water to freeze is big then it takes a lot of time to freeze it and ice produce is slow. also you can check the pressure of the water to the ref, it could be very high pressure. i hope i was able to help.

Ed25rfxfw01. I have an ED25RFXFW01 refrig whose ice maker 'trap door' won't shut all the way( about a half inch gap) when you stop dispensing the ice. Tried to take the clear shield loose to see if it was...

Sadly, you will need to replace the entire 'flapper' assembly for this machine to fix this problem. This is the part in question. 8201649 for Whirlpool side by side. However, I would suggest if you can find the entire control panel assembly (which would be MUCH easier and have less chance to break things) to do that instead.

However, clearing the shoot wont do a thing for this issue at all.

Hope this helps ya ^_^

There is a good chance that the clear shield has come out of its mount and is jamming the mechanism. Check to see if this is thae case. It is a bit tricky to get it back in but you should see a tab on the back side of the shield and it clips into a slot on the actuator arm.

Water freezes when going into ice maker model # ed25rfxfw01 whirlpool

The water inlet valve on the back of the unit where the water supply comes in can have a slow leak and will cause ice to buildup and block the fill tube. Disconnect the ice maker line from the valve and watch to see if it has a slow drip. It doesn't take much to eventually block the fill tube.
The valve can leak because of sediment in the water preventing it from closing or low water pressure.

Icemaker stopped making ice.

If not filling with water the water control valve is most likely the problem. Pour tap water into tray let freeze and if it cycles and dumps the ice then the water control valve is the problem. If the ice maker does nothing trying this the the ice maker is most likely the problem, I need your model number to confirm which type ice maker you have because some do not have replacement parts. The model number of your Whirlpool Refrigerator, Thanks Sea Breeze

Whirlpool commercial ice maker pulling out the circuit breaker after a few seconds of powering up.

The ice maker is drawing to much amperage from somewhere. Is this a free standing ice maker or in a refrigerator. If free standing then it will go through a dump cycle and dump the water out of the reservoir and refill. Then the compressor will come on and that will trip the breaker if it has a weak motor or if it is locked up. You can purchase a hard start at an appliance parts store for $20 to $30 to see if this will help the compressor before replacing it. If it is inside a refrigerator the module motor on the front of the ice maker is shorted and needs to be replaced. Again at an appliance parts store you can get for about $90 you will need the model number located inside the refrigerator.

Ice maker not making ice

Does the tray get water? Is your water filter plugged? Does it cycle the tray to dump ice like it has ice in it?

Whirlpool refrigerator ED22TEXHW01 ice maker

Tammi, you first want to check to make sure the water inlet tube to the icemaker is not frozen shut. Next, get yourself a jumper wire about 4 inches long with the ends stripped exposing the wire on each end. Pull off the ice maker cover, it will pull right off. Now you are looking at the module. On the module, left side, you will see two test points marked V and L. Insert one end of the jumper wire into V and the other marked L. You are now sending 120 volts to the water valve and water should fill the ice maker providing the inlet tube is not frozen over. If it doesn't fill, you either have a bad water valve or module itself. Also check to see if the clips that hold the center gear on the module are not broken. Catriver..post back.
