I'd try to use the HDMI hookup first (if your TV has HDMI). The HDMI cable carries HD video and audio. You will have to buy these, don't come with PS3. If no HDMI, go with component cables. These are the blue, green and red cables for video and a separate white/red for audio. You will have to buy these, don't come with PS3. Beyond that you'd have to use S-video and RCA (audio) jacks OR composite cables (yellow for video, white/red for audio) The HDMI and component are your best options and will provide you with HD, the other two will not. Good luck
Depending on the age of your play station you may or may not have an hdmi output on the playstation. if youi do then its simple. one hdmi cable from the tv to the playstation and yoiur done. if not, you should have some round color coded plugs on the back of the tv and the same ones at the playstation. they should be just larger than a pencil eraser. these are called RCA plugs or phono plugs. the cables will have the opposite end with pin sticking out. you can go to google images and type rca plug to see a picture.
