It sounds like you have a intermittent problem in the driver output stage, it should be exchanged for a new one, because this is a problem that can not be fixed easily.

Yamaha home theatre system RXV 350 amplifier

Check it without speaker connection. If the set does not go to protection mode, check all the speakers by connecting one by one at a time and switch the set ON; to find the faulty speaker. If the set goes to protection mode even no speaker connected, check and replace damaged components at its audio output section circuit. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Unit goes into protection after a few seconds. Yamaha amp model no RXV 350

Disconnect all the speaker connections, and just switch the set ON. Even now the set goes to protection mode, the fault will be with its audio output section circuit. If it does not go to protection mode without speaker connections, check all the speakers. Connect on by one at a time; and switch ON the set; thus you can get the faulty speaker box. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

Hi, I have a Yamaha RXV 459. Have speakers of DSE. The speakers are of 8 impedance. Was listening to music till 4 hrs ago. Switched off the whole unit from the power source. Returned and the unit is...

Disconnect the speaker one at a time, you may have a shorted voice coil, the message was indicated a short in the speaker wiring. If no joy then you may have burned out the power transistors.

Hello, it is worth checking that there is adequate ventillation around the unit, especially if it is in a cabinet. Also check that there is no dust clogging the vents on the unit. Another cause for overheating is using speakers that require far more power than your receiver can provide, or speakers with an ohm rating that is lower than the amplifier provides. Also, check to see if any wires to the speakers are crossing over as shorting will cause the amplifier to overheat and cut out. Hope this helps.

Car speakers turn on and off randomly and make crackling sound?

The answer is: "Yes." If your speaker wiring is such that they all share a common ground wire, and that ground wire is shorting out, it can cause all speakers to go silent when it is grounded (shorted). I would check the wiring, and replace any cracked wiring, and if the wiring looks like the shielding is worn, replace all the speaker wiring. Monster cable is the best, but any heavy copper wiring works fine. I often use 110V. appliance wiring to install car stereos.
