Mine did the same thing and i think that it could be the relay under the switch cause i had power when i directly touched both neg. and pos. so i would diffently take a look at that.
I have the same problem with a 765mx 36 thrust. I am going to check the power going to the motor with a meter. I think it may be the PC board has gone bad. I will write back with my findings
Solved my problem, it was the main PC board that controlls the unit. I had it replaced for $147.00 Dollars. Fish Lectronics in Pequot Lakes, MN. The owner Jim Wentworth fixed it in about 15 minutes replacing the board. (218) 568-4806. Wentworth is the Trolling motor/Marine electronics guru in the Brainard Lakes area.

I have a Minn Kota PowerDrive that the shaft will turn by the foot pedal but the on off switch below the left and right controls will not turn on the motor. The last few days the motor would work sometimes by using the on switch and selecting the speed but it would just shut off randomly... then if I turned the switch off then on sometimes it would work again. Now it won't turn on at all... I have gone through and checked all the conections and there are no issues there....does anyone know if it is just the foot pedal and if replaced that would solve the problem or is there something else? I dont want to buy a new foot pedal if its something else. Any help would be awesome!
