A search of your model number turns up a powermate compressor. Unfortunately the piston rod is not available as a seperate part, you have to order the entire pump/motor unit. The only place I could find it was at this link: http://www.ereplacementparts.com/powermate-vpp0200604-single-stage-oil-lubricated-air-compressor-parts-c-117046_117047_117049.html.

Where do I buy a Piston connecting rod for Durabuilt compressor 6 Gal mo# DPO200604 con/rod/116mm length

only place will be from the compressor manufacturer
durabuilt will be the assembled unit but the compressor is made by some one else
you will have to identify the maker of the compressor to have any chance of getting a rod
makers leave a casting sign on the crankcase of the compressor or even a brand name
you could try a retailer for the compressor and find a service center for repairs and get the rod from that angle
breaking rods or needing rods for compressors is very unusual and one possible cause of a rod problem is excessive pressure being generated ( 150 psi or more )

Sears troubleshooting

Rod? Curtain rod? Rodney? Iron rod? Piston rod? If its piston rod then no oil in the crankcase would do it. Too much oil could do it too. Or the compressor acquired liquid on top of the piston somehow and tried to compress it. (liquid does not compress only vapor). Be sure to drain your compressor of water on a regular basis.

Piston ring compressor

making sure that the open ends are not lined up with each other. if you have two or more rings this must be done. Place your ring compressor around ring and snug up. Place the connecting rod into cylinder making sure not to let the con rod touch the sides of cylinder. When the ring compressor touches the cylinder body slightly tap the edges of the compressor to make sure it is flat. Once flat push the piston down into the cylinder with a wooden handle. DO NOT USE METAL OBJECT FOR THIS. Make sure your in a clean environment as well.

How to remove crankshaft for campbell hausfeld compressor

I assume you have removed the valve head-valve plate-cylinder assembly from the base and pistons. Remove the four bolts holding the bearing cap assembly on one side of the crankcase and remove the cap. You have to pull on the crank to get the crank bearing out of the opposite side of the crankcase. Move the crank forward and turn it until the rear bearing will clear the crankcase and the whole thing will tilt and come out the top. Campbell sells the entire crank, con rods, pistons & rings as an assembly under part number VT040600AJ. This is the best way to go as they don't have con rods to go on the crank if you were to get the journals turned down. NOTE: During reassembly, the bottoms of the cylinders have a taper so you don't need a ring compressor to get the pistons in the cylinders. Just be sure the oil rings are in properly before pushing the cylinder all the way down. The thin oil scrapper rings have a tendency to fold over and get caught between the piston and cylinder.

I am replacing the cylinder sleeve and compression ring on my Craftsman air compressor model 919165020. Searspartsdirect says that I need two compression rings. Is this right? My compressor only had one...

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Craftsman-Parts/Air-compressor-Parts/Model-919165020/0247/0703000 This is the exploded view that I used.

67 head 65 gasket 64 reed valve plate 63 ring, this one goes under the reed valve plate 62 screw that goes thru the 61 piston 60is a ring that sets on the top of the connecting rod screw the piston with the ring into the top of the connecting rod then take the connecting rod end cap off and cover the studs with some rubber tubing. This will protect the crankshaft when you push connecting rod and piston assembly in to the sleeve that is seated in the block. The ring should be flexible enough to push into the sleeve,if not a bit of oil should help.Guide the connecting rod on to the the crank shaft.I hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.com

Will not build pressure past 40 psi

You have either damaged reed valves or piston ring. Both of which are common problems with this type of compressor. To diagnose: Remove the motor cover, then the four screws holding the cylinder head on. The valve plate is under the head and all eight reeds, five intake and three output, must be in very good condition to work properly. You'll need the valve plate, part number N017592, and head gasket, part number Z-D24819, if there are any damaged reed valves. If they're OK, check the piston ring. Remove the screw holding the piston on the flywheel and pull the con-rod out of the cylinder. The ring around the piston must be in perfect condition to build pressure. The connecting rod kit, part number KK-4964, is the only way to get the piston seal ring.

Need a rod for an oil run porter cable air compressor model c3151

Ok, the post shows 2 model numbers, so I will provide links for both. Be sure to only pay attention to the model number you actually have.

For a model C3151, an oilless compressor, the only way to get the connecting rod is by buying a piston kit, there is no individual replacement. KK-4835 is the part number and it runs about 50.00.
It can be purchased here.
http://www.ereplacementparts.com/piston-cylinder-and-ring-replacement-kit-p-58708.html

Now if you have a C3551, an oiled compressor, the entire Eccentric Rod Assembly will have to be replaced. The part number is Z-D22207 and it runs about 100.00.
It can be purchased here.

I hope this helps.

The compressor is making a clacking noise and is not pumping air

It doesn't sound like it is the valve assembly - but could be, more like the piston, rod assembly & if it is not pumping air, could be broken piston or maybe the connecting rod is broken and crankshaft is hitting the case, etc as it rotates. If you remove the head, you can see if the piston assy is working correctly, and if you have reed valve they can be changed & new head gasket put on. Unless you have an expensive compressor, if broken internal parts are in compressor, its usually cheaper to just buy a replacement compressor motor. Hope this helps you, Rick
