Mine does the same thing... If you hold the power button, it will eventually come on but the picture is terrible. The screen flickers and a very light ticking sound can be heard from behind the tv. The picture itself is also very dark.. I'm tempted to open it up.. Any suggestions?

    Magnavox LCD TV, Model 32MF231D

TV works fine for a couple minutes then goes black with motorboat sound.

Can power off and on and same happens. Acts like capacitor. Checked all electroytics in the power supply and seem ok. Resoldered several places. Replaced capacitor 2074 (220 uF 25 VDC) and no fix. Beginning to think is transformer.

i bought 32mf31d magnavox, after about 1.5 years, it starts to turn itself off automatically randomly, from minutes to seconds. i think it's a common problem, manufacture should do something, like recall. if anyone fixes it, please let me know how. thanks.

I have a DayTek 32" Flat Panel LCD TV model number DK321A. It continues to lose time. I tried a factory reset code I found on the internet and now the power button from the remote does not always work. (I am not sure if it was a proper code and realize I should not have used it, Sorry!). Do you think the proper factory reset code would work and if so, what is it, do you know? By the way I have ruled out batteries as a problem for the power button. My thoughts are that both problems could be fixed by a true factory reset. I hope I am correct. Please help and I hope you have a great day!

I have been in the tv broadcast field for over 30 years. You can go to remote codes on the internet and look up the remote code for your Daytek 32 " LCD TV. That if you have not found it yet.

You can go on the internet to remote codes for your tv and get the code if you have not found it yet

An earlier post of the smaller model of this with the same problem said to remove the metal cover over the power supply.

I have the 26MF231D and it worked great afterward (even though you can't mount it)

Here is how you remove the cover.

MAGNAVOX 32MF231D TV PIXILATES, THEN GOES BLACK, ON AND OFF?

Hello Kevin,

That type of issue is usually caused by bad filter capacitors on the power supply board. As the capacitors heat up they can't filter the output power correctly so the power supply shuts off to prevent damage. Here is a link to information and parts list of the capacitors neede3d to repair the power board.

My magnavox 32mf231d/37 tv will power up and the sound works, but the screen is blue... any help would be great!

Blue screen means no signal detected which if you have audio is strange---How and where on the set is the signal hooked up?

Coax or cable fitting?

Rear audio and video or component or HDMI?

I am taking off the back panel of my magnavox 32mf231d/37 hd tv. I was told by a guru to check the t-con board. Im not sure how to expose this part and could use some help.

Hello,

First, click on the below link in order to identify board. You will also find the part number and other information listed below the image of the T-con board. Also, if you wish to order, you can order direct from the link.

http://stores.orlandopc.net/-strse-3084/MAGNAVOX-T-dsh-CON-BOARD-1320WA01CCAA/Detail.bok

Note the TV stores electric current. So if you just turned off the TV, wait a while (30mins) before opening the back cover.

Now that you know the board that you are looking for, turn off the TV. Get a set of philips screw driver. Look at the back of the TV. Amongst the set of screw driver, look for the one that can fit into the screws holding the TV back cover, then unscrew all the screws.

You will find panels, inside the TV. Unscrew all screws holding the panel in order to get to the T-con board.

Take your time to study how the panels and board in the TV are fitted in, so that you can get them off easily.

Lastly, use a camera to snap the of the TV and each step you take as to removing any screw or disconnecting wires from the panel, so that it will be easy to fit them back to their right position in case you forget.

I hope the above is clear.

Regards.

My magnavox 32mf231d/37 tv will power up and the sound works, but the screen is blue... any help would be great!

Try taking it for a walk, or sing happy songs to it.
Depression is a common problem with today's LCD panels.
Most cases go untreated.
Talk to your doctor about receiving medication that may be able to help with it's symptoms. Side effects include nausea, diarrhea, genital warts, hemorrhoids, and an erection that lasts longer than 4 hours.
Do not watch your TV if yo are pregnant or using an MAOI, as these combinations have been known to cause permanent death.

There two caps on the power supply that the tops will swell up. Change them both and that should get you going.
