The *3 and call button does not work to reformat my nokia 5200?

reformat your phone. press *3call and switch on long press the three buttons in same time. wait untill you see the select country.

press *#7730# to reformat your phone. m sure its the best solution and the simplest way. thanks

You need to re-flash the firmware of the phone in order to reformat it. Unfortunately, reformatting the phone by yourself might create more damage to the phone, because Nokia tech is using a unique software to reformat it.

I would suggest to bring the phone to the nearest Nokia Care Center to properly upgrade the firmware.

hard formatting can be done through phonex software only . light formatting you can do after powering on the set type *#7370# and then the set will ask u to type security code (default 12345).Type it automatically that will format.
