Drain is blocked in freezer. take back panel off inside the freezer and you will probably find that the bottom is covered with ice. melt off with a hairdryer and hot water till water flows freely down the drain. needs a bit of patience

Bosch KGU 34640 freezer not cold enough

I had a similar problem a couple years back with my freezer. Behind the vent cover in the back there were a few lines that ran the cooling or something like that. What happened was my freezer was icing up horribly. I was told to take that panel off and check those lines. Sure enough one of the lines was busted through. That was why my freezer was having problems. I apoligize I don't know anything about the front buttons tho.

Ice built up in the frost free freezer section

It sounds like the freezer fan(evaporator) is wearing out. This problem is very hard to diagnose because the fan spins but no fast enough to circulated the chilled air thru the freezer and refrigerator. The parts and labor are around $300.00

My Bosch frostfree fridge freezer keeps icing up!

My Bosch Frost Free Fridge Freezer did the same thing - Ice forming in the bottom of the freezer area after a few days.

It was caused by a blocked drain pipe - When the freezer does the de-frosting cycle, the melted ice drips into a tray and tehn runs into a dish on top of teh compressor, through a pipe.

If this pipe gets blocked, the de frosted ice overflows from the tray and overflows into the bottom of the freezer and then re-freezes !

To fix, pull the freezer away form the wall, locate the pipe that runs to the dish on top of the compressor and blow through it - This should clear it. Alternatively, from inside the freezer compartment, pull off the cover at the back, but the clips holding it on will probably break off, as mine did ! You can sort of push the cover back on and re-fit the food draws.

Bosch KGU31124 Freezer Not Working

I have the same freezer and get the same problems. Ice forms on the refrigeration fins beind the plastic shroud at the rear and completely blocks the airflow. The fan that moves cool air around does not work then and freezer temp goes up. Ice will often push the shroud forwards so that the door does not close properly. Warm moist air get in and just increases the ice problem.

I take the shroud and fan housing off the rear (4 screws and a wire to the fan) and defrost thoroughly using a hair dryer. You can then see when all the ice has gone..

Bosch intelligent frost free 40

The small drain pipe on the back of the fridge gets clogged, hence no drainage when defrosting, hence ice blocks the airflow between the freezer compartment and the fridge compartment.
Remove the rubber stop from the drain pipe and clean (can be found above the motor)
Defrost the fridge for a few days (it takes at least 48 hours). During this time, if you are not brave enough to remove the internal panels of the freezer and continually clean the water, check for water coming out and clean.
If during the defrost there is no water coming out the drain pipe, use about 2m of flexible and strong wire to clean the pipe.
The aim is to unblock the pipe once the ice has melted.

FREEZER WORKING - FRIDGE NOT WORKING

Ok, got it sussed! [well here's what I did anyway]...

Quite simply, I turned off the fridge-freezer at the mains overnight and in the morning, broke and chucked out the ice chunks that had lined up in the bottom of the freezer section and then turned it back on. I returned that night to see that it was working fine again! Hallelujah, I got my fridge back!!

So it seems that all it needed was a good long defrost, so far so good! I hope this solves your problem.

Bosch Classixx fridge / freezer

Hi - experienced this myself and spent ages trying to get to the bottom of it - only found one post but it worked and was absolutely clear on the cause nb: i'm not an "expert" !

My understanding of how the Bosch f/f works is that the freezer compartment generates the cold air for the fridge which is regulared at the fridge end . At the back of my fridge there are two "vents" which feed up this cold air up from the freezer into the fridge.

Problem happened to me because I left the freezer door slightly ajar which generated a massive amount of frost (sucking in the moist air from the house I guess then freezing it) and subsequent ice froze up the cooling ducts between the freezer and the fridge. Therefore, no matter how much I turned up the fridge thermo it never got cool. Only solution was to dump my frozen at a mates house and defrost the the FREEZER for a good 24 hrs +.

Worked tho' - fridge was completely back to normal.

PS: I understand this issue may also happen if you put too much unfrozen food into the freezer at one go and in working overtime to get it frozen causing a massive frost up again.
