My dash is stuck on the opening TMobile screen. Even when I hard boot (pressing the two "-" buttons plus the power button) I get the screen that ask for you to press the send (green) button, but it then goes to the Tmobile screen and is stuck there.

My htc dash was stuck on the htc white screen. When I took out the battery and sim, then replaced and turned it on it said "no calibration data!" Worked fine the day before. Any suggestions would be appreciated. My htc dash was stuck on the htc white screen. When I took out the battery and sim, then replaced and turned it on it said "no calibration data!" The Windows Mobile installation may be corrupted.
The only way to fix that problem is by re-installing the windows software on the phone.
You can get the software for the T-mobile dash at the following link: http://www.t-mobile.com/wmupgrade/
Be warned that if you use this method most of the data on the phone will be lost, like text messages and etc. Your contacts should be fine as the are stored on the SIM Card and if you have been syncing your contacts with your PC then they should get loaded when you do the up

Turn the handheld
off, hold the two soft keys (the dashes to the left and right of the phone buttons)
hold the power button for 1-2 seconds and then release the soft keys. It should
prompt you to clear storage. The “send” button is considered as the
green phone button.
How
to Hard Reset a T-Mobile Dash with operating system:
1. Select Start
2. Select Accessories
3. Clear Storage
4. Type in 1234
5. Select Yes
you need to reset it (small button on back or inside battery cover) and if that doesn't work then you need to do a hard reset by opening the battery cover, taking out the batteries and pushing the reset button on the inside. unfortunately the hard reset will delete everything.... but it will fix the problem
turn off phone, press and hold the 2 top soft buttons under the screen (not the larger ones with the phones on them). Press and release the power button while still holding the other 2. Wait a few seconds, when the screen changes you can release the 2 buttons. After a few minutes it will ask you to push the call button to reset. Make sure you have your contacts on the sim card, because all personal settings are erased.
I tried using a the google mail java app on my tmobile dash. It froze up on me, and when i turned it back on it just stays at the "tmobile" splash screen. I have tried using the soft key and power button reset but it doesnt work. What's weird is that it wont power down unless I take the battery out. It powers on, shows the tmobile splash screen, then freezes. Is there any other way to reset it or is it totally bricked? I bought it new off craiglslist so tmobile wont replace it for me cause I'm using it unlocked on cingular.
Ok bro I know I am a bit too late to help you with this problem but someone else may benefit from these directions. I see most places online only have half advice about this very common problem with T-mobile Dash.
This is what you need to do, you have to do a hard reset exactly like "reviel" mention. Also like he said timing is essential but the trick is that you need to show some patience through the process.
Note: Please read the directions completely before doing anything for better results.
Step 1: Take your battery out and shut off your phone Step 2: Press and hold the two soft key buttons. Step 3: Press and hold the power button for exact two seconds, 1001, 1002 and release, but continue to hold the two soft key buttons. Step 4: Within seconds a black screen with some text will come up asking you to confirm if you wanna delete everything; and right then you let go of your soft key buttons and press the green call button (also known as the "send key"). Step 5: You are done but not really, your job now is to find something else to do and leave your phone alone for at least 2 minutes. Eventually if you don't have a SIM in it, it will prompt you for it and you click the soft key to choose "OK"; also, it will ask you to confirm to restart and you click the soft key to chose "Done" for it.
Wait a minute for it boot up and overall it should do it.
This happen to me more than once, the latest today (may 25 08)at 9pm. Tmobile will tell you how sorry they are and that's about it. I am on my second dash and second battery.
Try to hold both top keys (between call green and hung up red) while you are pressing on the shut off switch for 2 seconds. Whe it comes back to life, everything will have erased but supposedly, the phone will be like new.
I am collecting names and emails of people who are fed up with the Dash and Tmobile. Write to me [email protected]
Master repoot the phone. You will loose all data, but you can recover the phone.
1. PRESS AND HOLD BOTH SOFT KEYS. 2. WHILE HOLDING DOWN SOFT KEYS, PRESS AND RELEASE THE POWER BUTTON, WAIT 3-5 SEC. (PHONE SHOULD POWER ITSELF ON BY DOING THIS) 3. RELEASE THE TWO KEYS SOFT KEYS. 4. WHEN SCREEN ON DASH LOOKS LIKE IT'S IN DOS FORMAT, PRESS SEND (GREEN ANSWER KEY)
Mine does the samething. I'm running 6.1 and have found the problem to be the system fails to read the sd card on boot. When I reset my memory I don't put the sd card in until the system has booted back to the start screen. Works fine everytime.
you can do a software reset.......to do this the phone needs to be off. press the soft keys (buttons with the lines on them above the back arrow and home button) and press the power button and keep you fingers on the soft keys until a black screen with white writing pops up....by pressing the green call button here, it will reset the phone.....good luck!
do a sw reset....its possible it was damaged when it was dropped in the water, but not likey....
turn the phone off, press and hold the soft keys (buttons with the lines on them above the home key and back arrow key) and hold it down.....press the power button while you are doing that until the white t-mobile screen will come on, then instead of going to the green windows mobile screen, a black screen with white writing......press the green button....it will get you in your phone but it will erase your info as a result....
