Hi, Please check designated card for your camera in owner manual. If it is OK, then try another good memory card ( with same type) and have your camera re-try. If nothing change, problem is in your camera . It could be memory card ports/terminals, or its interface with PCB.

Regards,
Jay

A 4GB memory card will be an SDHC type. SD and SDHC cards fit the same slots, but many cameras won't work with the SDHC (high capacity) cards. SDHC is not backwards compatible.

Memory card wont format. I bought a new 4G sandisk memory card but all it says after formatting is the card is full.

The S200 uses SD cards. Your new 4GB card is actually an SDHC card and will not work in the S200. You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

Memory card Sandisk 4GB gives error memory card

The S50 uses SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card, and will not work in the S50. You will have to confine your choices to cards 2GB and smaller.

I have loaded a new memory stick and get a message "memory card error" I have since tried another card and get the same maessage. Any idea waht the issue is.

Well if your camera is an SD600, I'm guessing that you bought a new 4GB SDHC card. Although it looks exactly the same as a standard SD card, the format the card uses is very different. Unfortunately your camera was designed before the SDHC format came out. Sorry, but a SDHC card will not work with your camera.

You'll need to use standard SD cards (usually those 2GB or less). But if you really want to use a 4GB card, do a Google search for 4GB SD "non HC", with the non HC in quotes. Believe Transcend makes one.

The ZR200 is able to read a card of maximum of 2 Gbytes !!!

The 4 GB SD card it is a so called SDHC = Secure Digital High Capacity ! Every SD card with more than 2 G Bytes it is a High Capacity and the old hardware will not be able to use these SDHC.
