A few weeks ago, my 30" wolf electric cooktop (model CT30E/S) just shut off for no reason. I had to turn the power switch off and on a couple of time before I could unlock and use it. Today, the cooktop just lock up and would not even unlock even though I hold for 3 seconds. No respond at all. I have to turn the power switch off for about one hour later then the only I could unlock and use it. Could you please tell me what is the problem? Thank you

SOURCE: My electronic ignition on gas Wolf cooktop(30

Hi,

Is the ignition battery or mains electric? If it's battery, check the battery isn't flat. If it isn't it will be the ignition unit.

If it's mains electric it's more than likely going to be the electronic ignition unit.It is quite a fiddly job to change/test this. I would highly recommend getting a qualified 'Gas Safe' engineer to check it out.

I hope this helps.

Turn off power to the cooktop (i.e., using circuit breaker if needed) for 15-20 minutes. Once turned power back on, problem disappeared for me. The semiconductor needed to be reset

SOURCE: Wolf Induction cooktop is locked in Showroom mode

If Shr (5hr) appears on the display then the cooktop is in showroom mode. To exit showroom mode the cooktop must be locked by pressing and holding the key symbol for 5 seconds. After the cooktop is locked, press and hold the melt touch pad for 5 seconds.

SOURCE: 36" Wolf induction cooktop cannot get past show

Hello John..... Call the store and ask them what code is needed for this model. They put it in showroom mode and they should have taken it out of showroom mode before it left the store. Shame on them. Joe

Look in the bottom right corner of your Wolf cooktop. A key symbol glows when the cooktop is locked. Press and hold the glowing key symbol for three seconds. The cooktop emits three chimes and the symbol stops glowing when the lock is switched off.Hold the key symbol down for a further three seconds to reactivate the lock.

Generally there is a number after the F. It sounds like some liquid got into the electrical, sometimes if you wait about a week for it to dry it will work. If not, you would need to call a service tech

I have a Wolf gourmet 30" stove. it's about 10

Interesting, I'm looking for a solution to a similar issue. Our new (7 month old) 30'' Wolf Range has this issue. When both front burners are light, the back burner's electronic starter begins to click, but only when you put a pan on the front left burner. I believe the iron/steel in the pan is causing a magnetic field thats starting the rear burner to go off.. just don't know.. will report back after the repair person comes.

Oven wont shut off

Fuse won't let it shut off? That doesn't make sense. A fuse is made to connect something not disconnect something. I don't know how much you paid that repair man but I would probably call another to verify the diagnosis.
Good luck.

Wolf electric induction stovetop

I had that happen once and it went off after a day. I'd suggest maybe turning off the breaker and wait a few minutes and turn it back on. But here's my problem for you. I got the 30" model in March, 2008. The problem I've had is that the induction units cool down and start cycling when I'm cooking something like bacon, or pork chops etc., ie. where you're trying to brown something or sear. They cycle up and down every couple of minutes, so its really annoying. They work fine if I'm boiling water for pasta or sauces, etc. Have you experienced this. I've been working with the dealer and the company and they say its a "software" problem, but they've haven't taken them off the market. I use All-Clad stainless steel pans so that's not the issue. Thanks for your comments.
