Our printer will print out a beautiful color print of anything we photocopy, but when we try to print out a color photo from our computer's photo library, the printout is missing the color black. Cleaning the printhead and calibration did not fix the problem and Kodak is now sending out another printhead (our 3rd one in 3 years) to fix the problem. Can't see how this will resolve the issue seeing as the printer has no problem with a color photocopy. Any insight into this continuing frustration would be greatly appreciated.

The printer works fine from Windows including Scanner. When using photocopy from printer panel does not work.

If you are not getting any error messages, I suspect you definitely have a printer hardware problem, especially if it prints fine from Windows. Best to contact Canon's technical support with this one

I have been printing photos and they have come out beautiful. Suddenly the colors are all muted, and brown hair has a green tint. My printer is an HP 6180. Nothing has changed - same paper, ink...

It sounds like one of the colors is not printing correctly. I would suggest , opening your hp solutions center programs and under tools you will find an option to clean the print heads. Follow the procedure to cleans the print heads, after cleaning open control panel on the computer and depending on the operating system click on "printers" (XP) or "devices and printers"(vista win7) right click on your printer( hit your right mouse button) select " printer properties" click on print test page. This page will print out showing each of the colors separately. You should see black, blue, pink and yellow. If one of these colors is missing or muted you will now which color is cratinging the issue. And at that time I would try changing the corresponding ink cartridge. Hopefully the print head cleaning will resolve your issue

First of all we need to establish if the printer actually prints anything. Disconnect from PC and try photocopying a document. If it prints a blank page then it is most likely to be clogged print heads. Use the maintenance button to run the print head cleaning cycle, it may take 4 or 5 attempts. If still nothing then leave for about 10 hours and run another set of head cleans. If still not printing you may need to apply a head cleaning solution such as this one:

If the photocopy prints OK then the problem is more likely to be software & driver related on the PC. Make sure that the USB cable is good and check that all USB ports are showing OK in your device manager. Completely uninstall old printer drivers and try a fresh installation.

Good luck, please take a moment to rate this solution. Thanks.

Color of the prints

Hi,
Try printer preferences.
START/PRINTERS/Right Click on printer/ printer preferences.
Gives you the various Options, print test page-clean heads et,c et,c.
If you have all the software and drivers installed, you should also get these options in the printers default Program.
