Frigidaire oven. broil/bake stop working. Stove top still works so there is power to the range. I changed both fuse and it didnt help. the appliance is 8 yrs old is the Gallery Series. when i turn bake on it seems go work but oven never gets hot.

Exact same thing happened to me. After a power failure my Frigidaire stove worked and the clock worked but bake broil and self clean gave me a DR error. Tried everything to reset nothing worked. When I unplugged and plugged back in I got an f13 code.I changed the control board and the entire oven is back in business!

It's stopped completely

Hello angeleyez82 - The EOC (electronic oven control/control board) basically sends power to both the broil and bake elements. As long as the power supply to the range (240VAC) and wiring between the elements is correct, then typically only the element(s) or EOC could prevent the unit from heating. If you are referring to the bake element, but the broil element works then you would need to just replace the bake element. If both your bake and broil element does not work, then there might be a problem with the wiring communication. However, if the oven does not bake and/or broil but the cook top works, contact a professional to have the EOC (electronic oven control) diagnosed.

It is a bit suspicious if both stopped working at the same time. It has to be a common fault. The first thing I would check is the wiring at both elements. You will have to pull the back of the range off to check this. If okay I would suspect the controller which controls both these elements is faulty. Another solution maybe the oven thermal overload but it isn't that common.

Sounds like you need an bake element ignitor if the bake doesn't work but if the broil also doesn't work, it could be the electronic clock/timer control. the part number for the bake ignitor is 8054129 .Best off to call a reliable service company such as Sears.

look for a shorted bake element .. you should be able to see where it poped. ( some times ) if you have ohm meter you can ck for an open element . **** //

if an element itself had shorted it would not stop the other from working and you could inspect each element and see blistering as evidence.the pop you heard has to be in common with both elements but not the cook top[burners]so thats going to be the wiring in the back of range, or switching,[thermostat,clock timer or oven selector switch,depends on which model you have]you will have to pull range and remove back pannels.you will find an obivous burn't connection.too repair all new connections must be clean and tight,or will burn again.

If the sensor were bad, the unit would throw a fault code. On the back of the range, near the top, there should be a tech sheet for you to use to troubleshoot the range. It sounds like a thermal sensor may have opened up. Consult that tech sheet, it should point you in the right direction.
