The drivers for Wndows 7 most likely will not work on Windows XP. If this laptop came installed with Windows 7 it may not have Windows XP drivers. Before you install Windows XP check the LG WEB site for Windows XP drivers for your model laptop. If there isn't any XP drivers then I suggest you stick with Windows 7.

HP doesn't have the drivers available for windows 7 cause its only in Beta and they won't have it until windows 7 becomes official and available in stores.
The only chance would be if you go into the control panel and then add printers. See if in there it has your make and model of your printer. If it doesn't then try a printer that is similar and it might install it.
If you still can't get it to install then you'll have to wait for HP to come out with a driver for windows 7.
