I have a Canon Ixus 95015 but I have mis-placed the charger. Will the lead that connects to my computer to view the pictures I've taken charge the battery? Or will any Canon Ixus charger fit my camera? Thanks, Andrea.

You can find a new charger by searching for your camera's model number (add the word "charger") on Amazon, but it might be better to get one of the "universal" chargers instead. There are several makes of these, that will charge any of the small lithium batteries used in cameras and phones, so you won't have this problem again. And the universal chargers are often cheaper than the ones dedicated to a single battery type.

If your camera came with a charger for the battery, then it is unlikely that it will charge from the USB lead.

Digital IXUS 95 IS digital camera communication error message

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Viewing images on computer as they are taken

The P100 is not designed for tethered shooting. You can connect it to a computer to transfer pictures after they're taken, and to charge the battery. You could use an Eye-Fi card to transfer pictures as soon as they're taken, but again that's after you've taken the picture.

Can the canon ixus 60 charge its battery when connected to the computer?

No. The camera does not contain any charging circuitry. Please use the supplied CB-2LV or CB-2LVE charger.

Canon does not let me view some pictures on the LCD screen

My guess would be that the program you are using in your computer is not a Canon product. If this is the case, it is possible the program may have automatically adjusted the image, red eye correction or ? thus changing the image and making it impossible for the camera to read the file.
