I am using the Audiovox FMM100A modulator on a 2004 Nissan Quest. I am getting a high level of static via the modulator when using it to play a DVD from a stand a lone in dash dvd player. The player is new and I have checked the player seperatly and there is not static. When I disconnet the ground from the modulator, the modulator still functions. The only grounding possible is through the van's antenna. Also, the static is one level. It only only decreases or increase with the volume. The static does not fluctuate with the engine. The static is also present when the engine is off. How do I stop this?

I also bought mine at Sam's Club. I also have only used mine on trips. Mine also has a date code of 2005. Audiovox wants $80 to fix it plus shipping. I guess they just make throw away products that only wodk for a short time!.

I have the same problem! The only way to fix this is to replace the motor that spins the DVD. if you take it apart and spin the DVD the movie will play. The motor is just wore out and has no torque to start the play process. I am still looking for a replacement motor for it and haven't found anyone that carries the motor required. Only Audiovox so far and they want 180 to send in and fix.

Try Turning the unit off and then back on. As soon as you turn it back on push eject .
