The dryer spins, heats but doesn't dry clothes, I cleaned out the dryer vent but not much if any improvement??

Make sure your washer is spinning well, are the clothes extremely damp or almost dripping? If so, the washer isn't spinning properly. If the clothes are the same dampness they have always been, then you most likely have a clogged vent, clean the dryer vent from the back of the dryer to the vent hood outside (trust me, clean it REALLY well, get it perfectly clean.) then try the dryer, if neither of those is the problem (make sure you clean the vent and make sure there are no restrictions before discounting it as a problem) then something is wrong with the dryer

Check the exhaust vent when running and be sure there is a good flow of air. You may have to clean the exhaust pipes all the way through. Dryers require a good flow of air for proper operation.

You will first need to determine where the problem is, I would disconnect the dryer vent from the dryer. Now if the drying improves, problem is not the dryer, its the vent system. If no change, does the unit heat at first then slowly fail to heat? Does it produce any heat? I need more information to direct you in the correct direction.

Have you ever cleaned it out? If not, that is the most common problem with dryers. It can't breathe and takes multiple cycles to dry the clothes. Unplug the dryer and pull it out. Disconnect the vent from the back of the dryer. Clean out lint from dryer and vent. Take the vent outside if you have to and blow it out with air compressor, if you can. Now check the other end of the vent outside at the vent cap. Clean it out and make sure the vent cap flap is not stuck closed. After reassembling vent, turn on dryer and check for heat at outside vent. You also may need to clean it out more if lint has traveled down the vent. Also, clean out your lint filter religiously for more efficient drying. Those are the easy things to look for and fix on your own. If it still does not improve drying, you made need a repairman to trouble shoot it. Good luck!

You will need to check the dryer venting system for a restriction. If there is a restriciton in the venting system the dryer will get hot but the clothes will stay wet due to the moisture never leaves the dryer. First check the air flow at the vent exit located outside. Verify that there is plenty of airflow. Make sure the vent screen is not plugged. Then remove the screen and visually inspect for excessive lint. Then go inside and check the moisture vent hose behind the dryer. Verify that the vent hose is not kinked or restricted. Then remove the hose and clear out any excessive lint. Then check the vent opening at the back of the dryer for any excessive lint build-up. There is a vent cleaning kit that you can purchase from any home improvement store that you can use to clean out the venting system also. When you are done airflow should be good and clothes should properly dry.

You are correct. Pull the dryer out and disconnect your venting from the back of the dryer. Turn your dryer on and check to make sure your dryer is blowing air out of the dryer duct. If it is then leave your dryer out at least 2 ft from the wall and run a load of clothes through the dryer. If it dries your clothes normally then you have a venting restriction. Check to make sure your venting is clean, not kinked or smashed, make sure your outside vent is opening an doesn.t have something blocking it. Check your lint screen filter by running water through it. If water is not flowing through it, you have a build up of fabric softener on your screen, blocking air flow. The orange glow is the heating element working. It mush have good air flow or the coil will burn out and stop heating. Also the thermal limit will stop the heat if to great. If you went all through the vent and the tubing is not smashed or flat check the outside vent for air circulation, if good try to dry a load of clothes. Are you sure your washer is spinning out well? Wet clothes take longer to dry.

when the dryer unit fails to dry clothes in reasonable time 90% of the time it is the clogged air vent is the reason.
