Now do you remove agitator from washer drum?

I have a lightweight comforter stuck between the agitator and the drum? I read a solution was to remove the agitator. I tried to unscrew it, but it's not budging.

There are 4 holes at the base of the agitator. Use a screwdriver to push in at each hole in order to pop the plastic grove that holds it in place. The agitator cap will then pull off to reveal 6 3/8" bolts. Remove these with a socket set and the entire agitator can be lifted to free the garment. To reassemble, position the agitator holes over the holes in the base, reinsert and tighten the bolts, snap the cap back on, and your are ready to go.

    Jim!
Thanks for these instructions. It worked for me. I had washed a pair of shorts, with my driver's license in the pocket. The license had slipped between the wall of the washer under the agitator area. I took it all apart (Warning, if this is the first time that you're doing this, it's probably got some built up gunk inside) and lo and behold was my license. And assorted change, along with other miscellaneous items! Put it all back together, and all seems to be working well.

Item caught under agitator

The top of the washer pulls up. IT may be hard to do. This will expose the whole drum so that you can see around it. If you need to remove the agitator, there is a cap on the top of the center, take it off and you should see a nut and some lock washers, Remove the nut and lift the agitator out.

Drum does not agitate water goes in and it just humms, no agitation or spin

The drive belt is broken or the motor's rotor is stuck. Open the door and rotate the drum manually. The drive belt is worn or broken if you can freely rotate the drum. The rotor is most probably stuck if you cannot turn the drum.

Visual check can be done by removing the back panel. Remove the screws holding it to the cabinet and pull it off. Replace the belt if it is worn or broken. Simply wrap it around the drive motor pulley and on one side of the drum pulley. Rotate the drum pulley in such a way that the belt completely wraps around it.

Try to free the rotor if it's stuck by lubricating it and forcibly turning it back and forth until it turns freely. To remove the motor, disconnect the motor wiring harness and ground wire from the terminals and remove the mounting bolt. Pull the motor out of the mounting slots. To reinstall or replace, simply slide it back into the mounting slots and secure it with the mounting bolt.

In some cases, the drum will not spin due to a broken drum pulley. Post it back if that is the case.

I have a LG WM2016CW washing machine and there is change (penny, nickle, dimes ect.)stuck in the drum some were, how do i get them out?

You said "stuck" in the drum somewhere? Like under the agitator vanes? You should be able to take the lid off the agitator, it should either clip in or have a screw holding it on, and there you will see the nut, or keeper that holds the agitator on the motor shaft. Remove that clip or nut and you can lift the agitator out of the washer. From there you will see all of the wash drum and should be able to remove any foreign objects. If these "coins" are between the inner and outer tub, then you will have to remove both the top cover and lid, and remove the agitator and the inner drum to get to the outer drum in order to reach these objects. Not a hard job, but it will take you a little while. You could try reaching with your fingers around the agitator bottom and see if you can "feel" the coins or objects and possible use a small brush or stick or popsicle stick to move them out so that you can reach them, Kinda like "fishing" under the refrigerator or the couch. In the alternative, you could enlist four friends and unhook the washer from the water supply and the electric, and turn it upside down and try to shake the coins or objects out the top of the drum. Tilting the machine to one side will let them fall to the cabinet sides and possibly drop out the bottom when it is uprighted. Now I know why Mom always "checked" my pockets before she washed Dad and my clothes. We left a little of everything in there, from time to time. Good Luck with this.

Cloth stuck under agitator in washing machine.

there is a bolt under the fabric softner dispenser (if you have one) if not, its a plastic cap on the top of your agitator which pops off by hand or a butter knife.. then there is a bolt under there that holds the unit down..grap the bottom of your agitator and loosen the bolt and remove it...then lift up carefully on the whole thing..careful not to loose the seal and bolt to put the agitator back in place....good luck..

Hi.. hope you can help me.. I have a year old Zanussi ZWF1221W - my dear daughter put in a wash without emptying her pockets and something (a hairgrip or bra support) is now stuck between the drum and the...

It sounds like it's actually stuck between the bottom of the agitator and the basket (assuming you've got an agitator). The top of the agitator is usually for bleach or maybe it's fabric softener. Pop off the top (like the lid off of a can) and that should expose a nut or bolt in the center of the agitator. Remove this bolt (make note of how tight it was just after you've broken it free) and lift to remove the agitator. Remove any foreign objects and feel free to clean up anything else down there. Replace the agitator and tighten the bolt approx as tight as it was when you removed it (be careful not to overtighten). Snap on the top of the agitator and you should be good to go.

From the sounds of things, you are talking about a front loading dryer. The agitators in the dryer can get coins stuck inside them. Remove the top and rotate the drum to reveal the screws which hold the agitators to the drum. Remove the screws and the agitators, empty the coins or other debris and reinstall.

The loud squeal sounds like the pad under the open side of the drum is worn out. There may also be a dry main bearing in the rear of the dryer. Lubricate the bearing and reinstall the drum. The squeal should disappear.

If this is not a dryer or a front loading washer, none of these suggestions will apply, Sorry
