This issue occurs if you have installed incompatible software onto your Mac. The Brother machine's Scanner driver and CUPS printer driver are bundled into Mac OSX 10.6. The operating system will detect the printer and install the appropriate driver. Please consult the Mac OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard Support Statement for a complete list of Brother Machines that have bundled drivers available.

After trying to scan a document to one of my files, I got the following message"An unexpected error occurred. Please restart your computer, then try again. (CC028)" What's wrong?

This can happen with Brother all-in-one printer/scanners with the Macintosh OS X operating system and the Brother Control Center software. Usually it means that the driver or software is corrupted or not the correct version for your OS version. One thing to check: can you launch a scan from the software on the computer?

To resolve this, if the all-in-one is connected to the computer with a USB cable, unplug the data cable. Reboot the computer. Follow the appropriate directions from https://help.brother-usa.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/65413/~/when-i-attempt-to-scan-in-macintosh-os-x-using-the-controlcenter%2C-i-receive-and . You'll need to delete the twain.ds folder and delete the device.

Go to the appropriate Brother support site and download the current version of the driver and software package for your all-in-one. Start at https://www.brother-usa.com/brother-support or Google the model number and look for drivers. Install the software and connect the data cable (USB) when prompted to do so. Launch the Control Center software after installing the full software package. Try to launch a scan from the software. You'll need to set up the software before using the buttons on the all-in-one.

I hope this helps. Please add a comment with the model of your scanner and OS version for specific solutions that may apply.

How to scan your computer for errors

It's horrible having a computer that's full of errors and not knowing how to remove them.

Follow the simple steps below:

2. Click on "My Computer".

3. Now Right-click on "Local Disk Drive C".

4. Click "Properties".

write a complaint letter to the developer. Hope that they listen and can afford to look into it.

Scan document error

This is typically a software issue and has nothing to do with the scanner itself. Try these steps out and see if it helps.
  • At the Control Panel go to "Find and Fix Problems" under System and Security
  • Next, under Programs select "Run Programs made for previous versions of Windows"
  • A box will appear (Program Compatibility). Press the "Next." It will begin to detect programs that may have compatibility problems with windows.
  • Scroll down and select your scanning software, then select "Next"
  • Select "Fix Using Recommended Settings". It will next prompt you to test their recommended setting by starting the program. Select "start the Program"
  • If the test works, it will ask you to save the new settings.

How do I fix this error: Error loading C:PROGRA~1MYWEBS~1ar.binM3PLUGIN.DLL The specified module could not be found.

You have picked up the horrible program My web Search. You need to get this off your computer asap. Restart your computer in Safe Mode and then go to Control Panel >> Add/Remove programs and find My Web Search and uninstall it. Immediately run your security scans while still in Safe Mode. Restart your computer after doing all this and it will return to normal mode.

Once my Deskjet F380 goes Offline (which it does whenever it has a paper problem), how can I easily get it Online or Ready again? So far, I have only been able to do this by shutting computer and printer...

Unplug the USB connection in the back of the printer.
Then go to Start. In the "Start Search" box type "services.msc. Hit Enter.
The Services window appear.
Scroll down to "Print Spooler". Right click and select "Restart".
After a few seconds reconnect the USB cable.

You can also access the Services box by going to Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services.

You may require administrative rights to do this

Hope that helps
