Wristech blood pressure Moniter Model # HL-168

1) Try to get the band as tight around your wrist as you can with the sensor part of the strap across your wrist nearest the palm of your hand, and try it again.
2) Try changing the batteries. They sometimes start to error like this before the batteries show as weak/dead.

How do you read a wrist tech monitor and what does the number mean?

The wrist monitor, much like ones in doctor's offices, reads your blood pressure and pulse rate.
The large numbers are your blood pressure reading. The Top number is the Systolic and the bottom number is the Diastolic. If you doctor or his nurse has taken your blood pressure and told you what it was, they said for example, 140 over 80, which on your chart would be listed as 140/80. The smaller number at the bottom of the screen is your pulse rate. Some monitors will indicate if the heart beat is regular or irregular. Depending on your age, general health and life style, a normal blood pressure would be in the range of (Systolic) 120 to 130 over (Diastolic) 70 to 80. But, your normal range may be different based on what I said above. Only your personal physician can tell you what yours is or should be.

When using a wrist monitor it must be properly placed on the wrist (1" above the heal of the hand). You must remain very still and try not to talk, until the monitor has completed cycling. Also, having your hand/wrist at heart level, helps to ontain a more accurate reading. Never take readings back to back. Wait at least 2 minutes in between sessions.

If this helped you, please be kind enough to let me know.

How I can test the accuracy of the Wlagreen blood pressure monitor

If you don't have highly accurate static pressure meter and BPM simulator you are not able to fully test the accuracy of a BPM. However, the simple way to test it is use the same human body to compare the Dia. & Sys. result you got from this walgreen mahine and the traditional manual mercury type BPM.

My wristech bp moniter will only pump up to 08 and then it displays the error message, what's wrong with it?

You need to make sure that the bp is RIGHT over the pulse point, that is the only way for them to read. they are great little items, but I prefer the arm cuff, have used them for 15 years on all my patients, the reading seems to me to be more steady and accurate. but, I know you already have to wrist, so please check the locations that you are placing it on your wrist. Please write back should you need more info, would love to make sure you are on schedule..... Guy
