JVC AV_65WP74 I bought this tv 3 yrs ago and never had any problems. But today when my daughter turned it off it was never able to turn on again.
The blue power light comes on but the screen doesn't appear. It has been plugged into a serge protector. Any ideas what can be wrong with this and how it can be fixed? Should I have the repair man come out?
Thanks
I have the same problem. First, the color quality was bad on our set (we had the red swag in the top corner). We had a repair man come and he rebuilt the pw board. The picture was perfect for a few days then, while watching, the picture just went out. The blue power light flashes, but we have no picture. Any suggestions what it could be or how much the parts would cost? We're not getting much help from the original repair man.
I am having the same problem. We too have had the TV about 3 years. It's sad because we both work and the TV is not even used very much. We turned it on one morning and about 5 minutes later the speakers started popping and the picture went blank. Now when you turn the power on it clicks multiple times in the back and through the speakers then the power light blinks on and off. This is so dissapointing with such a nice set.I am having the same problem. We too have had the TV about 3 years. It's sad because we both work and the TV is not even used very much. The clicking you hear is probably caused by a relay that controls the incoming AC to the main power supply.
This is a protective reaction to a problem in the power supply itself or an overload due to a failure downstream from the supply.
This is not a likely DIY repair.
You will probably need a technician to determine which of these two likely problems it is.
Convergence is dead.Must change convergence ICS and all it resistors.Know how to solders?Buy a convergence kit at Tv repair World.com,Tvrepair.com to repair it ur self.Shop well cost u $300 for parts and labors.
it could either be convergence ics shorted or deflection board trouble
as to cost convergence 300 to 350
if its power supply 300.400
it would have to be isolated down to the exact location causing the problem
but usualy a great set to keep around
you need to replace both convergence ICs they are both STK392-110 and you can get replacement ICs at the following link and they provide free step by step instructions with pictures so you can do the job yourself. Heres the link. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
