You can recover the deleted video but it's not 100% sure unless those deleted videos are not fully overwritten(if you continue to take more video with your JVC camcorder).

First of all, DO NOT take any more videos with the memory card or stick that you want to recover from in case you may quite possibly ruin your chances of video recovery.

Then take some video recovery software to see if you can recover some or all of your deleted videos. Take the software and see?

If you are running Windows, turn to this video photo recovery software.
If you are running Macintosh, refer to this Mac data recovery program.

Just install the program on your computer, then connect your cam memory card and start to the scanning process.

Lastly you should remember - Do NOT try & write anything back to your Nikon memory card until you can recover your pictures to safely!

No worries, you can recover deleted videos from Sony handycam with a professional data recovery software. Connect the handycam to computer, and then see whether it shows as a mass storage, if not, you need to take out the memory card or hard drive and then connect it to computer. You get some chance. Deleting files(such as videos or photos) from camcorder is just like clearing the recycle bin or Trash on your comptuter. The data itself isn't deleted, just the area containing the deleted data is also now marked as free space so it is available for any new data to be written there instead. The REAL data is still there. As a result a simple delete won't make your videos erased permanently.

Then you need opt for a third party data recovery software.

If you are running Windows, try this Windows recovery software (recover photos, VIDEOS and music files)
For Apple Mac OS X, try this Mac data recovery software.

Install the program on your computer (choose the right version based on the operation system you are running), then connect your camcorder (memory card or HDD) to the computer and start to recover your deleted videos. I am sure you can operate the recovery on your own.
