My numbers key board stopped working. How do I turn it on again.

- Possible Causes -
· Thermistor short
· Defective ac drive board
· Defective main board
· Fusing harness shorted

To reset code :

1. Turn on the main switch.
2. Enter "71" by using the numeral keys.
3. Press and hold the Clear/Stop key until a dot (·) appears in the top left
corner of the Copy Counter and then release it.
4. Press the Clear/Stop key again and then press the Lighter key.
NOTE: "5" will blink in the Copy Counter to show that the SP mode has
been accessed.
5. Enter the desired SP mode number using the numeral keys.
When the E52, E53, or E55 conditions occur, for safety reason
they cannot be cleared by turning off and on the main switch. The
following procedure must be performed to clear these service call
conditions:
1. Turn on the main switch.
2. Turn DPS 101-1 on and off.
3. Turn the main switch off and on.

try the combination of

Fn Key and NumLock Key (both Fn and NumLock will be of a diff colour on the Key board) and you will have the numeric key pad available

and the same function again after your work will unlock the nummeric key pad also

It sounds like your number lock has been turned on. If you hold your Function key down, which is usually displayed on the key as "Fn" and located at the bottom left of the keyboard by the control key and find the key in the top right that says "Num Lck" and press that, it should turn the number lock off.

What the number lock does is change some of your keys into a 10 key number pad, turning the number lock off disables this.

if there is nothing wrong with the keyboard..than press num lock to make them work again ...(the first led should be always lit to work )the num lock ..is the button in the left upper corner of the digits area..

Try this calibration procedure.
Turn the power switch on. Remove the safety key. Hold the Stop and Speed Up or Speed Plus buttons down then insert the safety key.
The display should show some numbers.
Press the stop key one time and the display should show some other numbers and some 00's. Press the Incline Up button and see if the Incline begins to move, if it does let it go all the way up and then all the way down, wait a few seconds after it stops, then hit the stop key 4 times. It should be calibrated. If it didn't move then the board or the incline motor is bad.

GO INTO CONTROL PANAL GO TO FOLDED PROBLEM AND REPORTING AND OPEN IT
LOOK FOR ANY MARKING THAT SHOULDNT BE THERE, GREEN MARKINGS IS GOOD BUT ANYTHING ELSE TROUBLE AND DOUBLE CLICK ON THE CHECK MARK AND FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS

The computer control circuit board was found to have a burned out circuit. The board is on the lower back side behind a panel, easy to replace. Just need the proper model number to order the board.

When one key stops working in a Keyboard there is dirt or some other obstruction between the contact layers and the board needs to be dismantled and cleaned or the contact layer has been broken and the keyboard will not respond to that key any more. The first is more likely unless the board has been really abused.

Try hooking up and external key board see if that works ok, and if it does you may want to try to find a new or used key board for your laptop. The key board may be shot, It should be fairly easy to change to a new board, Hopefully That will help you diag. the problem..
