My Kenmore Washer model: 110.49962603 stops during the rinse cylce. All the buttons were turned off after one cycle except the time button. It displays F28 on Time Estimated Remaining button. How can I fix this problem? The power will still on if I will turned on, but it stops after a few minutes.

By what you have stated, it sounds like a lid switch failure. The lid switch has to be closed for the drain and spin cycle on your washer. If the lid switch is faulty, it will act as if the lid is not closed. On this model, make sure the lid hinge screws are tight. If the screws are loose, the hinge might not activate the lid switch.

A quick check you can do is to jump the lid switch and see if it will drain. If the washer operates, the lid switch needs to be replaced.

To jump the lid switch you need to unplug the washer and open the console. I have provided you with the instructions for opening the console below. Once you have the console open, locate the connector for the lid switch. Place an insulated jumper between the gray and tan wires. Not the green it is a ground and will cause a short. After inserting the jumper make sure it will not touch anything metal, plug the washer in. Start the washer in a drain cycle. If the washer drains and spins, you need to replace the lid switch. Do not leave the jumper in while you are waiting for the part. The jumper is only of the test.

To you replace the lid switch you have to remove the cabinet of the washer. The instructions for that are also in the image below. Once the cabinet is removed you can take the screws out securing the lid switch and remove the harness from the clips along the underside of the cabinet. Then reinstall the lid switch in the reverse order. Before you reassemble the cabinet, please read the instructions for installing the cabinet provided in the image.

I hope this is helpful. Please reply below if you need further assistance.

SOURCE: Kenmore Series 70 won't spin

Sounds like you have got a basket drive and sub-pack issue. These are very hard to change out because it requires you to remove the inner basket, motor, transmission, agitator, pump, etc. The part number for these are:

Clutch Kit (Sub-Pack): 285785
Basket Drive/Spin Tube: 285792

If you think your up to the task, let me know and will send you some general info on getting the stuff in and out. Good Luck!!!!

SOURCE: shutting down on rinse cycle

Hi this could means that you may need to replace the washing machine bearings. Once the bearings are bad, the motor overheats and it will automatically shut down after the first rinse.

What does LF mean?

It is a long fill error. It flashes when the machine control board detected no change in the water level or the water level is not reached in a certain period of time during the fill cycle. Water is probably not entering the tub due to the water inlet valve not functioning or water enters the tub but not properly due to clogged fill hose screens.

Press the Pause/Cancel button to clear the error on the display. Remove the fill hoses from the water inlet valve assembly at the back of the machine and check the screens. Clean the screens and replace it if necessary. Make sure that the water supply valve is open and water is present.

Put the machine in standby mode (only the Clothes Clean indicator is on) and activate the Manual Diagnostic Test Mode to check the operation of the water inlet valve.
  1. Select any one button except Power, Stop, and Stop.
  2. Press and hold the button for 3 seconds-->Release the button for 3 seconds--> Press and hold the button for 3 seconds-->Release the button for 3 seconds--> Press and hold the button for 3 seconds
  3. Press the same button when all indicators on the console are illuminated and "88" is displayed on the Estimated Time Remaining display. A single beep sounds and display shows the two digit console ID number for 3 seconds. The displayed ID number will change to "00" and the Add a Garment indicator will flash.
  4. Select Whitest Whites cycle.
  5. Press Start>Wash/Rinse Temp. The water inlet valve should turn on and fill the tub according to the Wash/Rinse Temp selection.
  6. Press Start to turn off the valve.
  7. Press Stop or Power button to exit diagnostic test mode.

Washer stops during rinse cycle and isn't easily restartable....

Sounds like the contacts in the timer has a problem. Unplug washer. Remove the back of the washer and spray WD40 in the timer. Put towels around and under to to collect excess runoff.
Rrotate washer dial 25 times and spray some more wd40. Rotate 25 times again. Do a wash load. If it works put everting back together.
