F1 touch pad / ERC test This simple test will help determine
whether the ERC (Electronic Range Control or Clock) or the touch pad is
defective when F1 error code is present.

Note: Some models incorporate the touch pad in to the ERC as a single
assembly, in which case this test is not necessary. Simply replace the ERC
(Clock).

Warning: If you feel in any way uncomfortable performing this test or
making this repair, please contact a qualified appliance repair technician.

1. Disconnect power to the range (unplug the range power cord or turn the power off to the range at the circuit breaker). It is very important that the power to the range has been disconnected, so please double check before continuing

2. Gain access inside the control panel.

3. Disconnect the touch pad (also called keypad or membrane switch) ribbon from the ERC

4. Make sure there are no lose wires, or anything else that may cause a short when power is turned back on. Assemble the control panel back the way it was

5. Turn the power back on.

6. Wait for at least one hour to see if the F1 code comes back (usually accompanied by a beeping sound)

7. If F1 comes back, replace the ERC. If it does not, replace the touch pad.

I did this on ours and found it was the (ERC) clock but now they don't carry that part anymore? WHERE can I get a new, would the repairman be a good choice to get this?

We have the same issue. Were you able to find the part, if so where? Thanks

The instructions come with the oven. And differ with models. Most important to follow all items. If the instructions are lost , Google GE double wall oven ( give model number). Or try the GE Dealer.

GE model # jkp27 error code F1 what should I do?

Hi ssantillo,

Usually F1 error code means that either the touch pad or the oven control (also called clock or ERC) is defective and needs to be replaced. If this fault code cannot be cancelled, replace the oven control (also called clock or ERC), touch pad, or both.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Our monogram double wall oven has a f7 code on the control panel. None of the buttons appear to be working, except clear, which clears the code. Then still no buttons work, and the f7 code comes back. What...

It's most likely that the error code you are seeing is F1, not F7. F1 is a code for 'stuck touch pad'. You will need to replace the clock/ERC or the touch pad (or both).

GE Electric Range Model #JBP95A F1 and F7 Error Code

F1 is a common error code indicating a failure of the oven control board (aka ERC or EOC). Often these control boards have been discontinued, "no longer available" or are very expensive. We may be able to help and save you money.

We refurbish oven control boards at www.fixyourboard.com.

F1 code on display pad

That error means the main control board has a internal failure. The board will have to replaced to fix that issue. If you need detailed repair help with that visit the link below:
