Is a landlord aloud to use current month rent to pay past due rent without letting me know and give me a 3 day eve notice for not paying current month rent????? please HELP!!!
Renting property is different from state to state, but a 3 day eviction notice is way below the minimum days allowed. My advice would be to look at your state's renting eviction policies to get full information about how to go about this.

Most places that rent laptops install system software that gives them remote control and the power to disable the laptop should you decide to keep the laptop and stop paying for it. It is legal since you agreed to it in the rental contract.

Save up some money and just buy a new laptop, they are so cheap now because everyone's buying tablets.

Old Lease rules still apply right?
No, you're still "under" the old lease. There should be language about what happens after lease expires. Typically it's month to month, with 30 day notice on either side to vacate premises.

If they're looking to raise the rent, or ask you to pay additional expenses et al, then they need you to sign a new lease.

It sounds like they want you to pay a higher rent, but still reserve the right to kick you out as you're month-to-month.

You should check with a lawyer, but my inclination would be pay the old rent until they're willing to talk to you about a new lease.
