SOURCE: cannot transfer sony ebooks to ereader

I have the pocket edition so not sure if its the same, try seeing if in advanced setting you can reformat the internal memory, I had to do it with mine, and its so much faster now, with no problems anymore. Plus get Calibre instead of the sony software. works a lot better.

My Kindle won't charge

If the battery isn't too far gone, here's how to revive it: Plug the device into the Kindle A/C adapter (not your computer) and let it charge for a few hours. Be sure the charging light is lit -- sometimes a drained Kindle will stop charging a few seconds after you plug it in. Unplug and replug until the light stays on steadily, then leave it alone. Most of the time you'll come back to a restored Kindle. If not, go on to step 2. If you still see the same Critical Battery screen after charging, unplug the USB cord, then hold the power slide to the right for at least 20 seconds. Release the power slide, then immediately press and hold the Home key for another 30 - 45 seconds. Once the Kindle's screen begins to flash, release the Home key. The eReader will boot to recovery mode. To continue, press and hold the R key until the screen flashes again. After the device is finished rebooting, you may see the Critical Battery screen once more. If so, plug in the USB cord and wait for the Kindle to return to the Home screen. - See more at: http://www.laptopmag.com/articles/kindle-critical-battery-error#sthash.Rtxwp4El.dpuf

How To Restore Your Kindle If It Experiences Critical Battery Error

f you can't get past step 3, the battery might be too far gone. Contact Kindle customer service via phone (866-321-8851) to walk through extra troubleshooting steps. My kindle fire does not keep its charge. I can use it one time and during the ap it goes dead

If you charge the device fully, meaning 100%, and while using it with a simple app it doesn't last 2 hrs. then you need to replace the battery. Next time it goes dead, don't turn it on, instead plug the charger and let it charge to 100% while the device is off. Once is fully charge, use it as you would normally do. But still,it needs a new battery.

Kindle keyboard won't turn on

Put it on charge for 30 minutes or so - the orange CHARGE light should light up.

Slide and HOLD the power slide to the right/ON position for a slow count of 30.
Ignore everything, just keep it held to the right for the complete count.

Now drink a cup of tea whilst it resets.

Now slide the power switch on again as normal - it should go to the Kindle Tree logo and then the boot bar come up and then everything will repopulate.
Let it alone for a few minutes as at remembers all your books and then all should be fine.

NOTE: Every 6 months the Kindle eReaders INDEX their content (it logs every single word in every single book) yes this eats the battery.
It's why they suggest never abandoning your Kindle for long periods of time.

You may also want to try a random search on the HOME page for "kjsdjhds" or something - if it says "5 books unindexed" use the down button to highlight those books and DELETE them. They are corrupted and can be downloaded again for free whenever conveninet to you.

Cant get my samsung tablet to turn on

Your tablet's battery is probably dead. This may be because you have a bad battery, a bad charger, or a bad charging cable. Try using a different cable first and let it charge for a few hours - even if it doesn't look like it is charging.

If the new cable doesn't do it, try using a different charger. Samsung devices are picky about what charger you use, so try to use one made for your tablet. If you don't have another charger, plug it into a PC's USB port with the PC turned on. Leave them on and plugged in over night. That should trickle charge your tablet.

If neither of those work, try holding down the power and the Volume Up buttons. Keep them both pressed until the Samsung logo/boot screen comes up - should only be a couple seconds. Once the logo comes up release the power button but keep holding the Volume Up button. That will boot you into Recovery Mode. If that comes up, it means you've got power and your tablet isn't broken, but there is something wrong with the Android OS that is keeping your tablet from powering up normally. Use the Volume Up and Down buttons to move the selection highlight to the Factory Reset option. This will wipe all the info off your tablet and put it back into a "brand new just out of the box" state. You'll lose your information on the tablet, but this should fix the boot problem. Press the power button to chose the Factory Reset option. It will take a few minutes. Once it says that it is done, select the Reboot or Restart option. It should reboot. This boot will take longer than normal, since its wiping things out. But not more than a few minutes.

Hi vailzamorta!

You can try to do a "Soft Reset" on the Reader. Do not worry, this will not affect your ebooks =)

1. Disconnect the reader from the computer
2. Hit the Reset button at the bottom of the unit for 3 seconds with a paper clip
3. Slide the power switch at the top of the eReader
4. The screen will blink and show opening book.... allow the reader to load

Just in case here are some other steps to try in case this does not make any difference

MY SONY EREADER ISNT WORKING AT ALL. THE RESET BUTTON WILL NOT DO IS JOB AND THE ONLY THING ON THE SCREEN IS ROTATING ARROWS.wHEN I CHARGED IT DIDNT TURN YELLOW.iTS BEEN LIKE THI9S SINCE CHRISMAS AND IT IS...

Hi huffasia,

Looks like a charging problem, try this:

1. Connect the reader to the computer and make sure red steady light comes on, if not, then hit the reset button for 3 seconds.
2. Once you get the redlight, leave the reader charging for 15-30 minutes (make sure the computer does not go into sleep mode)
3. After you charge the reader, try the soft reset again and slide the power switch at the top of the unit.

If this does not resolve the problem you may try a hard reset on the reader but this will remove all content.

To hard reset:

1. Hit the reset on the bottom of the reader
2. Slide the power switch
3. Once "Opening Book" comes on the screen, press and hold the directional "down arrow" and the number "0" both at the same time until "Reset All" appears on the screen.
4. The screen will go blank, now its time to turn it on again.

Note: If after trying the hard reset, the reader goes back to the black arrows trying to turn around, then repeat the steps again.

Hope this helps!

My sony ereader prs-650 is stuck on sleep mode and it wont do anything ,, it wont charge when connected to the computer

The Sony Reader used a special type of display; the LCD can retain an image without having power. It takes power while changing the pages. In most of the cases, if the power is fully discharged, the LCD will keep the last image that was displayed it makes an impression that the Reader is frozen. However, the Actual thing is, the screen retains the last image on the screen and there is no power to change the pages. These type of situations can be resolved by charging the Reader sufficiently.

Each step in my solution is a possible resolution. Hence I suggest that you perform each step and check the operation.

Charge the battery fully by connecting to a computer or by using a compatible AC Adaptor. It may take a few minutes (up to 15 minutes) to display the charging symbol if the Reader is fully drained in its last use.

Once the reader is charged fully (at least 45 minutes), slide the power button to turn ON.

Perform a soft reset. We can perform a soft reset by pressing the reset button on the Reader.

After the RESET button has been pressed, slide the POWER switch to activate the Reader device again. If the Indicator light next to the power button on the Reader device is yellow, the unit is attempting to start up. If this is the case, allow it a few moments to complete startup.
If the Reader is still not charging up properly, connect the Reader to computer or AC Adaptor and then press the reset button.

Disconnect the Reader device from the computer (if applicable) and then slide the POWER switch to activate the Reader device. Check if the Indicator light next to the power switch on the Reader device is yellow (indicating it is turning on) and if the unit is responding

If the unit is still frozen, connect it again to the computer or AC adapter and while connected, check if the Indicator light next to the power switch on the Reader device is red . If this light is red , allow the Reader device to charge for one hour so there is sufficient charge for troubleshooting.

If the issue persists, perform a hard reset to resolve the issue. Please follow the steps to perform a hard reset:

Under certain circumstances, moisture condensation can occur. Moisture condensation can be caused by moving the Reader device between temperature extremes or if the Reader device has come in direct contact with moisture. If you suspect moisture as the cause, allow the Reader device to sit for a few hours before attempting to turn it back on
