Audi A4 strange beeping

Feb 1, 2012 - My Car 58 S3, as of last night decided to start revving whilst on idle, I found a clip ... I can do or is it going to be a trip to audi for them to pull my pants down! ... Lots of members all over the UK have VCDS, have a look at the VCDS .....and as the engine warms up it'll auto-rev to 1000rpm every time i sit at idle. Car revving itself on idle ?

i think a new one is the order of the day here ,

if you look carefully in the owners manual it will tell you how to reset it

I dont think this is a problem. I have the same noise when openning the doors on my 2009 1.8t a4, u might also get this sound when you open the trunk as well. this is probably a manufacturing thing. it could be that the car senses that the door are open so that it would prepare the on board computer for ignition or something of that sort... thats my guess though!! but i believe its normal

hi, ive had 2 A 4's, could you describe in a little more detail what the noise is like, and when it happens...I,E, how far open is the door, and does it happen on closure too..???

I hope that you had the proper weight oil installed, at your oil change. If your oil is up to the proper level, and it's rattling ,this is VERY bad. White smoke usually means steam in the exhaust, and that means a blown head gasket. Check your coolant level. I wouldn't drive it anymore......until someone knowledgeable can diagnose it!!!!!

It could simply be maybe the person changing your oil never reset the light? or you have a oil pressure sensor leaking or not working.
most of the time its someone never reset the oil change light. even before it goes on it goes by mileage, so maybe it didnt go off yet cause you cnahged it a tad early.so noone even tried to reset it.

I guess you could have an oil pressure problem, but thats going the extreme route.. but if nothing else shows that could be a problem.

have the oil pressure checked as soon as you can... also have them check the wiring for the oil sending unit

Your car may have a faulty switch in the door but you will have to get the car pluged into a computer with VW / Audi software.
If you are in Ireland we can plug in to your car to find the fault as we have the correct software.
If not try a local dealer or put out a request for someone with the software in your area.
