The bulbs rarely go bad...instead the clear fluid in the lens goes out making the video look dull. Replace the fluid and you fix the TV. Its a bit tricky so I would suggest getting the parts and instructions from www.TvRepairKits.com

Bulb or Ballast?

If your old lamp is still working fine and the new lamp is not, then you bought a defective lamp. Get your money back or exchange the lamp.

Projection TV, most likely is the bulb needs changed or your light engine has failed. If y9ur able to do this kind of work it can be done but if not please call for service. The bulb is really easy.

Philips Magnavox 9p6034c bulb is bad

If you have to replace one, they are very difficult to pull out and replace. You must do a convergence on the color of the tube you replace. You will be replacing a picture tube not a bulb. You may need to replace the fluid in the one tube. Or you may have a convergence problem. You need a TV tech to reveal that the problem is not a bad picture tube....which is rare in your case! Good Luck and thanks for asking!

The tv will not turn on. I need to change the bulb in the tv

Snap-off lower front panel ( about 4" tall x width of TV.) Door behind there with philips screw. Philips screw for lamp itself.

I have a Philips 46pp9302/17f picture is distrubed by waves of red and blue colours...I think it maybe the bulbs?

Go into the customer menu and find and select convergence with the Philips remote.

If it is out or skewed OR red or blue will not move in some direction it is a convergence circuit problem. Confirm this and I can tell you what parts are needed and a cost for them (Usually under 30 total)

Lots of people see this kind of trouble and think one of the picture tubes is the problem.

Let me know what you find and I will help.

Philips Projection TV Bulbs need changing

Buy a new television. The "bulbs" are actually small picture tubes, also referred to as CRT's or guns. There are three of them, Red, Green and Blue. The cost for the tubes alone will probably exceed the original purchase price of the television. If the new tubes do not have the lens assembly attached, then you will need to transfer the old ones. This involves draining, cleaning, and refilling the coolant chambers. Once installed in the set, there is a series of mechanical and electrical adjustments required, to get the picture aligned or converged. This procedure is not recommended for the inexperienced. If cost and time are not an issue, then everything can probably be found on the Internet. Simply search the web for your model number. You will need the remainder of the model number first. There are at least eight models starting with 46PP9302. You are missing three additional characters.
