I can recieve SMS texts from all my contacts but can't send them. Every time i try to send a text, i get a small red clock icon and an exclamation point, which i assume indicates that the message has not been sent. I have tried hard restting the phone by taking the battery out while the phone is still on and the problem still persists. Please help!

Try entering the right mesage center number in the mesage profile settings, you can ask for mesage center number from your telecom provider and also explain them about this problem.. good luck....!

whats app is for texting only. you need to launch the app, input your mobile number and any other information the app asked you for. it will then say it has sent you an sms with a one time pin. once the sms has arrived close the app (press the home button), open the sms app and read the one time pin. remember it. open the whatsapp app and enter the one time pin from the sms. it will verify the sms and then ask you for more information like your display name etc. fill it in and click next until you are at a screen with a small square with a pencil in it, in the top right corner. press that button and then select a contact from your contact list which will be displayed. type your message in the now available text bar and press "send" which is next to the text bar, when ready. this is how you message with whatsapp. to exit the chat press the "chats" button in the top left.

Hi, go to your wireless provider web site and got their proper number "SMS Message Center Numbers".
On the phone, go to Options/SMS Text, move down to the Service Center line and put in the proper number remembering to put the + plus sign in front of it.
So if you get a Protocol Error and a Red X when trying to send SMS text, check this to fix it..

Usually, you don't have to touch these numbers. If you suspect they are incorrect, contact your mobile service provider and ask them to send an Over The Air (OTA) message with the correct information in it.

The SMS Message Center and SMS E-mail Center number should appear. (Treo 600 note: tap on the tab that says SIM). If you do not see any numbers, it means your mobile service provider does not allow you to change these numbers. As sms is text only, people will get text messages only. To convert the smiley-characters into smiley images, the receiver should have support for emoticons, or have a 3rd party program to translate the emoticons. As most phones consider SMS as text messages, they won't convert them to emoticons...
You could try sending a message to yourself, or someone else with a k850i...Just to try.
