If the opener is making a clicking sound when it is running the chain is too tight. Post back with the number of flashes from the light.

Last weekend I installed a new craftsman garage door opener. Twice now the garage door has opened on its own. The first time, I thought it might have been activated by one of my neighbor's remotes, but...

There may be an electronic short in either the wall control button or the receiver logic board. In this case, remove the wall control wires from terminals 1 and 2 on the motor unit. Should the symptoms persist after the wires are removed, replace the receiver logic board. If the symptoms stop with the wall control wires removed from the motor unit, replace the wall control button or the wires leading to the wall control button.

Make sure none of the staples have cut through the wires leading to the wall control.

Craftsman GDO don't not respond other than a click noise when remote or wall unit is pressed. When power is removed, then restored, wall switch is pressed, unit clicks, then green LED on back of unit...

The unit is flashing the code for 'motor overheated or RPM sensor failure'. If the door is stuck in the open position it could be because the trolley is jammed against the bolt just in front of the motor unit. Remove the bolt and run the opener until the door is closed. Now on the side of the motor unit you will find the 'up limit' adjustment. Turn this 2 full turns in the opposite direction of the arrow printed on the cover. Be sure to replace the bolt.

Grage door blinking yellow, click and won't open with anything.

TRY RESETTING THE UNIT BY UNPLUGGING IT FOR ABOUT 5 MIN.

IF WHEN YOU PLUG IT IN THE REMOTES STILL DON'T WORK TRY TO REPROGRAM THEM.
IF STILL HAVING TROUBLE--
COUNT THE FLASHES - GOTO LIFTMASTER.COM DOWNLOAD A FREE PDF FOR A SIMILAR UNIT (THE MODEL NUMBERS ARE DIFFERENT BUT THE CODES ARE THE SAME).
HOPE THIS HELPS

The unit is in the lock mode, push and hold the lock button in for about two seconds and the green LED should stop flashing. Your remotes should work.

Remote will not open garage door but the door still works

CHECK TO SEE IF THE LED ON THE WALL CONTROL IS FLASHING.

IF IT IS THE LOCK / VACATION SWITCH HAS BEEN ACTIVATED. THIS IS USSUALLY A SMALLER BUTTON ON THE WALL CONTROL OR A SMALL SWITCH ON THE WALL CONTROL.

WHEN THIS HAS BEEN SET TO UNLOCK THE UNIT, ALL OF YOUR REMOTE FUNTIONS SHOULD WORK.
