I bought the swing for my daughter and put new batteries in. Music works but it won't swing at all. What is wrong? I hate that I spent 60 dollars on something that doesn't work.

Even though the swing plays music, if it is running on battery power, the batteries may still need to be replaced.

usally if its house power black is hot wire white is neutrel green is ground if its 12 volt powered black is ground and white is positve so the black wire has to be grounded for it to work.

Graco swing motors are known for going bad, sorry. I have had no luck trying
to fix them as you tear them down and the electronics are what has gone bad.
They have a motion sensor in them along with a complicated motor to swing swivel
that if you lose a small ball that is the interface, you are doomed.
Time for a new one and if you buy one at a garage sale be sure to run it with weight in
it for at least 5 minutes. That culls out the bad motor ones!

So, you have purchased 100 batteries and none of them worked! Now you have spent $15 on rechargeable ones and they didn't work either. At $.50 a battery and adding the rechargeable ones, you've spent $65 on batteries and you still "love this camera"? I think your daughter deserves something better. So do you.

I had the exact same problem the motor worked fine but when we took it apart the gear inside was stripped. i hate saying it but best thing you can do is buy a new swing. i personally recommend http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3420749&camp=PPC%3A204318389. its a little bit high but so worth the money. my 8mo old baby girl loves it. it also has a AC adapter so no more batteries and an ipod hook up as well so you can pick what music you want your baby to listen to. best of luck.

Sounds like the battery is spent. If you just bought this 'new', you should know these haven't been made for a while, maybe 2 years. The battery might be dead. New ones aren't too expensive.

I would first uninstalled the software using add/remove programs then reinstalling from the CD that came with the player. It could also be a good ideo to check the Fisher Price website for more updated software.
