My printer brother DCP 365 CN is not printing black. I have replaced the cartidge with a new one and cleaned the machine several times. I have inserted and removed the black cartidge carefully twice now. Still, it is not printing black.

If you actually changed the flushing box, you should know how to go to the maintenance mode and reset the waste ink counter. Info. that is only available to Brother techs.

SOURCE: My brother printer dcp-165C can't print black

Routine maintenance and keeping full ink tanks will prevent this problem, however if you have the problem you can resolve it by doing the following:
1. Clean your print head using denatured alcohol solvent which can be purchased from most hardware stores. If unavailable, use 91% Alcohol (isopropyl alcohol (first aid antiseptic) which is available for less than a dollar at most Walmart pharmacy departments.

*Warning: You may want to use a pair of latex exam gloves as this is a messy process and can stain your fingers.
Time necessary 45-50 minutes
Supplies needed:
Isopropyl Alcohol or denatured alcohol
paper towels
latex gloves
sink, bowls and or basin
can of compressed air
very small screw driver
tablespoon or baby bulb type syringe
warm water

PROCEDURE:
1. Lift print head from printer. It pulls out easily because it is held in with the same down lever that holds the cartridge in place.
2. Put two layers of paper towels in the bottom of a dish to protect sensitive sprayer heads.
3.Put enough solvent in dish to cover the screens on which the cartridges sit when in use.
4. Take the two small screws out that hold the white ceramic piece
5. Gently, pry the ceramic piece back and away , to reveal the underside (No need to pull away the glued points on the sides.)
6. Gently, move head up and down to slosh solvent around it the best as you can. Use a table spoon or syringe to pour solvent over all orifices in the print head, turning it upside down and then back a few times.
7. Use canned air with a plastic straw to blow into and through all orifices, alternately sloshing/swishing and pouring solvent over head (be careful not to touch any of the holes, screens, or sprayer heads with anything)
8. Empty dirty solvent from bowl and replace with paper towels and clean solvent. Soak for approx 10 minutes. Rinse again with clean solvent poured directly on all parts, letting solvent overrun and fall into dish or basin.
9. Gently shake the solvent off the head, take it outside and spray with compressed air into all orifices to clear out and help evaporate any remaining solvent. Let sit on a clean paper towel for approx 20 minutes. (There may be a little ink bleeding out of the head, but once it dries completely it does not present any problems.
10. Reinstall head, cartridges and it will print like a new printer.

SUGGESTION: For many years of problem free printing, keep a double set of ink cartridges, one set full at all times. Whenever a cartridge runs out of ink, replace it IMMEDIATELY, with a new one or a refilled one. This gives the print head no chance to dry out and create clogged heads. Routine maintenance of cleaning the heads every 24 months does wonders for keeping your printer in new condition.

Hope this helps. .

Try to reset DCP printers without numeric keypad.
Follow this:

1. press buttons Set, Menu, Mono Start one by one, followed by up arrow key four times. this should all be done as short a time as possible, around 3 seconds.

2. enter maintenance mode 80 by pressing the up/down arrow key and set key to select numbers 8 and 0

3. press up arrow key several times to get to the Purge item

4. enter 2, 7, 8 and 3 using arrow/set keys to reset the counter

5. press Stop/Exit key to go to root of maintenance mode

6. enter 9,9 to exit maintenance mode

MY BROTHER PRINTER DCP-395 CN ERROR IN UNABLE TO INTI 4F PLEASE SOLUTION

This error is associated with the self test the printer does on the print head during power-up of the printer.

Sadly, it is indicative of either a faulty print head or a faulty main control board, neither of which are easy or inexpensive to replace.

Unless you can get hold of another machine with a different fault and swap over the print head and/or board (you'll need very good skills and tools to do this) then I'm afraid the machine is beyond economic repair*.

* Brother will repair your machine but the cost will likley be more than a new one.

There are no black ink on my print out. I have replaced with a new one and have cleaned it for several times and still no black printout..My machine is more than 1 year old.

This is a common problem that Brother will pay to repair. You need to call 1-877-brother and tell them the problem. They should then get you set up to have the print head replaced.

Printer wont print black.already replaced with new ink but still wont print black

did you take the tape off the new cartridge and is the print head burned out for the black? if you installed the diagnostic's on it then run it and see what it says, otherwise expect the print head to be cooked, however it is possible to get a bad ink cartridge try tapping it on your finger and see if ink comes out if it does not then the ink cartridge is dried out or no good, about %15 of print cartridges are bad on just about any brand printer some more than others.

My friend have a Brother DCP 115 C. I have take scans. it is asking insert black cartidge. what i have to do? is it i have load the ink cartidge. She told me that it is not required any ink? what shall we...

Try this, take out the black ink bottle,
clean between the sensors
"a grove in the machine at the front, where a slot on the bottle goes"
Clean with a cotton bud a small amount of bleach with water, or methylated spirits will do, also clean both sides of the slot on the bottle, then replace.
