I have Sony DSC H7 camera and when i insert my Scan Disk 4GB memory card it gives me error as "Re-insert memory stck", please advice

Possible that the memory card has some errors or virus in it. So please remove the card and insert it into the card reader in your PC which must be having a good anti-virus software to remove all the mal-wares in the card and format. Only if there are such viruses will it indicate such an error.
Remove off files- copy to folder, scan and format.

Hi there remove the memory card and reset the camera. After that try to take picture & let me know the result please.

1. Try to format your memory card using a PC/Laptop.

2. Now, insert it in camera and check whether its working!

The problem is with the memory card. It probably just shorted internally and is no longer useful. The amount of memory is not the problem, as I used a 4GB card for a long time and my card finally went bad. You will just have to get another memory card and MAYBE find someone to be able to retrieve your data.

I CHECKED SOME DIFFERENT SITES FOR SOLUTIONS AND FOUND ONE THAT PROBABLY MEANS MORE TO YOU THAT ME, NOT BEING FAMILIAR WITH YOUR CAMERA. IT STATED THAT TO RESET THE ERROR ONE NEEDED TO GO TO THE CLOCK SET MENU, TURN OFF THE CAMERA AND THEN REMOVE THE MEMORY CARD. THIS WAS SUPPOSE TO RESET THE ERROR CODE. I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU. WISH I HAD ALITTLE MORE TO GIVE YOU, BUT IF THE PROBLEM IS STILL THERE REPLY AND I'LL SEE WHAT ELSE I CAN FIND. GOOD LUCK!

Take the memory stick out, does the USB see internal memory now? If not move the internal memory pictures to the memory card first, then the USB connection will work.

Have you tried formating your memory card or a different card?

If you have a computer with a memory card reader that takes the stick. insert it into the computer and goto my computer find the memory stick drive letter and format it their then retry the stick in the camera. also try to go into the cameras menu and try formatting it their if you cannot format the stick it is very possible it is bad.
