You need to replace the gasket in the fill valve if it is a problem that was not there when it was new. If it is new? Check the water flow from the supply line to the toilet. Turn of the water to the toilet, remove water line from toilet, run water into a bucket to check flow. @ the bottom of the fill valve where the water connects, on the inside there may be a screen that in plugged

We do that but it takes forever to fill the tank

Don't know what you have but, 99% of the time it is a flap in the tank that gets stuck( causes slow fills or gas coming back out at you). This is a tank replacement. 1% is the fill vent is clogged up. Tube that comes from the tank to the top of the fill tube. There is a quick disconnect by the tank. Remove it and blow air in each side. Doesn't take much air. Blowing it in the tank you can see it start to swell. That is plenty. Be careful doing it towards the tank. You can blow out seals.

Can't fill gas tank in 2002 Hyundai Accent

There isn't a low cost solution for this problem. The cause of the fill up problem is that the vapor canister is damaged and would cost about $800 to replace. When you are filling with gas, the fumes from the empty tank are expelled through the vapor canister which is designed to capture the hydro carbon molecules to prevent air pollution. The design of the Accent fuel system allowed gas to get into the canister when the fuel tank was over filled which damaged the system. The alternative is to just take your time filling the gas tank. The pump which will sense the back pressure from the slow venting will shut off repeatedly but with patience you can fill the tank. Just wait about 5 seconds each time after the pump turns off before starting to fill again.

My 1999 Taurus misfires every time after I fill the gas tank, especially when going up hill. I replaced the gas tank cap but that didn't help. BOB

I am told that the gas tank has a problem with the relief tube. You may be filling the car up too much and causing pressure to build up due to the plugged relief. Try to run the car without topping it off. Just fill it untils it clicks the pump off the first time. Take your car in to have the overflow removed.

Won't take gas

don't insert nozzle in fill hole so deep. It is not getting the air it needs to vent out while your fillinh the tank. Also start off slow on filling the tank, so that the air will start coming out while gas is going into your gas tank. like is said, the tank isnot venting fast enough, to let the gas come into the tank.
