If it used to work, then try unplugging and reconnecting the AC power cable for USB scanners. No guarantees at all, but it may work. Unplugging and reconnecting the Firewire cable in XP also sometimes works. Give it a few seconds to be detected.

Check in the buffer and cancel all the print commands. Open the properties and do the ROLL BACK of the drivers. And try to take a test page. Open the control panel, click on printer and check whether it is offline or onling. Uninstall the printer from ADD/Remove and reinstall it either through a Driver Cd or by online and restart the computer. It should work after that.
