Dry chainbar indicates the oil pipe from the pump/reservoir is blocked. Just needs a clean out. - Oil leaking from bottom after use indicates reservoir is continuing to syphon oil from pipe joints because oil pump is creating pressure in the tank because of blocked pipe. Simple cure is to crack open the oil cap each time you stop using the saw. This will release the tank pressure and stop the syphon effect.

What chain oil in RM1015P

Hello, The chain lubrication oil is called bar and chain oil. It is specially formulated to cling to the bar and chain to ensure maximum lubrication. You can obtain bar and chain oil at any hardware store or power equipment shop.

What type of oil does my black and decker chainsaw GK1635T need

The chain lubrication should be a non fling chain oil, the non fling addative helps to keep the oil on the bottom of the bar where most cutting is done, rathere than spraying off the end of the bar.

I have a POULAN PRO 3516AVX chainsaw that I have to tighten the chain after every cut . What gives?

If the chain is stretching then it is either poor quaility chain, or there is not enough oil getting to the chain, it is impotant to use a non fling chain oil so as to lubricate the bottom of the bar where most cutting is done. hold the tip of the bar close to a clean peice of card board, rev the saw, there should be a good line of oil showing on the card board.

I have a poulan ES300 electric chainsaw and have been having a problem with the saw blade getting lubricated. I put the lubricant in the resevoir but oil is not flowing on the blade. How do I repair this...

Take the bar off. Then run the saw to see if oil is coming out.If it is make sure the oil hole in the bar is not plugged up.This happens after some use.To clean the bar you can use a small flat blade screw drive.Just scrape down the grove. You will see a small hole at the end where it bolts on.If you have an air hose just blow it out.It has to be open for the oil to get to the bar.

Chain not lubricating

Remove the bar and chain. Clean all parts exposed including the bar drive-end small oil channels that feed oil out to the chain groove on both sides of the bar. Start the engine and look for oil oozing out of a small side port where the bar fits to. If ok and no oil seems to coming from under the case, reassemble all components. Start the engine and run the bar tip at speed near some cardboard--it should throw off a thin line of oil. This saw should have an oil volume adjustment screw in the case back near the lower run of chain or just under the case in the same area. Turn CW to reduce volume. Hope this helps!

What type of oil I use

The Remington manual for model 111409-01 states: "This Pole Saw requires lubrication only to prevent rust on the guide bar and saw chain. The saw chain provided is pre-lubricated at the factory. With each use of the Pole Saw apply a small amount of lubricating oil directly to the saw chain (see Figure 8). The oil will distribute itself around the chain and guide bar groove during use?preventing rust. We recommend using SAE #30 motor oil for lubrication and rust prevention."

Lubrication

The cap on top with the bulb, screws off. Use bar oil. Give the bulb a pump every 30 seconds of operation or so. This will keep your chain and bar lubricated.

I have a poulan-pro 20" chain saw ... It doesn't seem to have good chain lubrication ... How do I check if the chain oil pump is working (or if there is a clog) ... The manual is poor ... Thanks ...

What I would do is remove the bar and chain. In the side of the bar are a couple holes that feed oil from the saw into the bar grooves. Make sure these are clean of any debris. Then look at the side of the saw where there is usually a wear plate and make sure the groove there is also free of debris. Lastly I would start the saw WITHOUT the bar and chain and look for oil coming from the groove area described above. If nothing coming out then you have a problem with saw motor and would have to go deeper into it.

Oil for remington 3HP 16" chain saw.

The oil for an electric saw would only be for lubricating the bar, so you would only need to buy bar oil.
