Tecumseh 5hp Engine Snow King Mtd Blowers Lh195sp67517 Logo

My snow blower engine does not have a spark. I changed the spark plug with no change. I took out the points and condeser assembly and determined with a electrical multitester that when the points were opened or closed the circuit was still flowing. When I disconnected 2 wires, one from the condenser the other to a black round plastic thing (which has the spark plug wire attached to it) the circuit is open when the points are open.

Have you tried testing the coil by doing a continuity test on it? Try testing the primary and secondary on it . Here are instructions: http://www.ehow.com/how_6586013_check-ig...

I have a snow blower won't startor even kick. i changed the spark plug still won't start

leave plug out but hooked to the plug boot. ground it to the engine block. if it don't have spark may be a bad coil. or plug. if it has spark it may be fuel related. give it a squirt of carburetor cleaner in the carburetor. if it fires for a few seconds. you will need to take the carburetor apart and clean it. make sure to check the fuel lines and fuel filter to be sure it is getting fuel. hope this helps.

Ariens snowblower 1979 how to test for spark

The coil needs to be just close enough not to rub. Wrap a piece of hard copper wire on the threads of the plug and ground the other end to the engine. Pull the handle and watch for spark.
