How can I unlock the region code on my LG DV 556 ?

Para Convertir el DV642 de LG a multiregion:
1- Enciende el DVD
2- Abre la bandeja de el DVD
3- Presiona el boton "0 (Cero)" 3 veces dejando entre cada vez que presiones el cero 1 segundo de por medio asi 0-0-0 donde el "-"es un espacio de 1 segundo despues preciona el boton 0 para fijar la region a cero para ponerlo en multiregion
y presiona pausa para guardar.

* Multizone Procedure:
* 1. Door Tray Open
* 2. Push "000" Button
* 3. Region Code: 0
* 4. Press "Pause" Button

If you have the LG DV 480 then try these steps
1 Turn the DVD player and open the disc draw, leave it empty
2 Press Pause
3 Type 0000
4 When the blue screen appears type "0" in the new region code
5 Press Pause
6 Power off the DVD player then turn it back on
It worked for me

i need to know the dvd player brand and model, so that i can help you unlock the region codes in your dvd player so you can player that new dvd.

This fix for a LG DVX 350 worked on a region 2 (Europe) LG DVX 380 player:

You need to burn the ISO image to a CD then put the CD into the DVD player. A region menu appears, select 0.

I found the following Multizone Instructions for Teac DV-4180:

1. Open the disc door
2. Press Setup, Vol +, Vol -, Vol +, Vol - on the remote control
3. Press < or > on the remote control to select the region code (255 is all regions)
4. Press 'enter' to confirm
5. Close disc tray

Tops! It does work! I specifically bought this LG to replace an old LG which was easy to set. The open tray is critical as is waiting about a second between the three '0' key pushes. You will get the region code test screen on the TV.  Re-cap:
1. Open DVD tray 2. Press the '0' key on the remote three times, waiting about one second between key presses. The 'Region Test' screen will appear on the TV. If you don't get this screen, then power off/power on again and start over. 3. If the Region Test screen appears, enter '0' for all-regions. 4. Press pause to save and exit.
