If the TV menu displays your problem is most likely not the Tv , but is caused by the signal source:
Cable box or connections. Reboot everything test using other sources like a DVD player to isolate the problem.
With out a model number of your unit I can't be of perfect help, but I believe your set does not have an audio output. The only way you will be able to use the sound bar is to run the audio from your cable or sat box to the sound bar.
How new is it? Usually these TVs have a cool-down period, but a warm up of longer than 15 seconds is unusual. I would return it or try to get it fixed under warranty.
