ViewSonic VA1930wm Screen stays on for about 2 seconds, and then goes off. 1) If no computer is connected you get a "no signal" message which stays for about 1 seconds and then goes off; blue...

Very typical of View Sonic. Sounds like a back backlight or inverter. I would go to www.viewsonic.com and open up a RMA. Most view sonic screens have a 3 year warranty. They will repair at no cost ..(if it is within that period) There is a date code on the back of the screen that will help you validate the above information.

The view sonic VA1701WB display is totally white on the screen during up the computer and i check the CPU is booting up but at the same time monitor screen is totally white please reply the reason.

It can be due to:
Dead T-CON board on the LCD panel assembly due to blown fuse or just dead board.
Dead power supply on the logic board that supplys the power to the T-CON board.

The monitor won't work with my computer. It says the input to the display is analog. I need a VGA adapter. What do you think. It's a ViewSonic VE700 monitor.

first I would double check in your big box of computer junk look for one of these. that is if your computer has dvi output. Then you should be able to connect to your VE700 with a standard VGA cable, with the Blue ends.8ff5302.jpg

Monitor image size

There is nothing wrong with the monitor, the issue is that the web page you are looking at is designed for a lower resolution than you LCD is set for (Web pages are normally designed for 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768) you like have a wide aspect ratio monitor.

As I sit here writing this on my 12" wide aspect LCD I have a 2" wide white space on each side of my screen due to my 1280 x 800 aspect ratio.

The issue is one of WEB PAGE DESIGN not the fault of your computer video settings. The web page is written using page frames and fixed aspect ration settings to ensure that the page displays properly regardless of monitor type.

If you had a high end LCD (WUXGA 1920 x 1200), the web page would fill the upper left 1/4 of the screen.

If you lower the resolution of your display, then you'll have fuzzy icons and text, so essentially, get used to it.

Eventually, wed design will catch up with current display technology.

LCD monitor problems.

Hi.

If the monitors use seperate plug in power supply EG 12 to 24volts it could be that at fault.
Or it could be the invertor at fault.
I have had some success repairing invertors if you can use A meter remove invertor Panels & check accross the coils with meter set to ohms all the coils should read identical chances are you will find one set of windings either dead short or open circuit. This will be the faulty coil hopefully as your monitors are all the same make the coils will be the same.
Carefully desolder faulty coil & fit one that reads good from a doner board.
Look for any SMD type fuses & check or replace them & thats it I have done quite a few now using this method.
Give it a go.
