The operating system is irrelevant in this case. If you connect the CMP628E via USB, it is treated as a generic USB storage device. In fact, when you display available drives, you should see two: one for the internal memory (2GB), and one for the optional MicroSD Card (whatever size it is). Putting music on the unit is as simple as copying your favorite MP3s to the device, just as you would do with any other drive/folder. The CMP628E supports quite a variety of MP3s... I have yet to put one on that fails to play, even some created with bizarre bitrates that drive many of my other devices nuts. And again, operating system is not a factor. I use this device on PCs running every version of Windows from 2K onward (yes, that includes Vista) as well as Linux, and also Macs.
