Just bought a Craig MP3 player mod. CMP628E and because an operating system was not mentioned until I opened the package, I found it's not compatible w/Windows Vista. I need it for Saturday for granddaughter's b-day but can't get the songs onto it-can you help?

The operating system is irrelevant in this case. If you connect the CMP628E via USB, it is treated as a generic USB storage device. In fact, when you display available drives, you should see two: one for the internal memory (2GB), and one for the optional MicroSD Card (whatever size it is). Putting music on the unit is as simple as copying your favorite MP3s to the device, just as you would do with any other drive/folder. The CMP628E supports quite a variety of MP3s... I have yet to put one on that fails to play, even some created with bizarre bitrates that drive many of my other devices nuts. And again, operating system is not a factor. I use this device on PCs running every version of Windows from 2K onward (yes, that includes Vista) as well as Linux, and also Macs.

Craig Model Cmp641f won't play videos I've tried every format I can think of and whenever I go to play one that it says it's compatible it says format error.

Hi

First check to see if your player is video compatible,if it is;

There is a possible firmware problem.Visit your manufacturer's website to check for recent update for your firmware,download this update and install them on your player by connecting it to your system

If you do this it should clear all kinds of errors on your player

go to lime wire or where ever you download music. plug your mp3 inot the usp open the files up on the computer to show what is on there, then open up the folder on your computer that has all your music. while you have them both open just drag and drop the music files from your computer to the mp3 player folder.
